RCA REB1100

The RCA REB1100 offers the basics in eReaders with a 5.5 inch display screen and just 8 MB of built in storage. The storage is, however, expandable up to 128 MB, but nowhere near its more modern counterparts of 512 MB built in storage

It’s hard to imagine someone not having a computer in this day and age, but those people do exist and the RCA eBook offers a built in modem to allow purchases via a telephone line. While many of the newer eReaders have taken away the backlight and...

What the RCA does not offer is the new e-ink technology that is available on the latest releases of electronic readers. The e-ink offers more clarity and simulates the page of a book. The RCA REB only offers an LCD screen, but it is nearly six times...

While many are looking for sleek, techie electronic readers with all the bells and whistles, eBook purists who would just like the basics for reading on the run may find the RCA REB has just what they need

LOVE the ability for four-way orientation of screen, unlike the new GEB1100.

RCA REB1100 eBook

By using the older Rocket eBook software, it is possible to download books from the internet and convert them for use in the REB 1100. A web search on 'ebook' will reveal very many sources. The Gutenberg Project, alone, has thousands, from ancient...

Love my RCA REB1100 eBook. I have had no problems with the unit and the reading selection has been quite satisfactory. Battery life is quite good.

RCA REB1100 eBook

I love my Reb1100. It's easy to use & handle. I also have the 1200 which is heavier & doesn't have sufficient light & contrast adjustment for use in bright sun. Book selection is getting better all the time, I strongly recommend it to ant avid reader.

RCA REB1100 eBook

I had a hard time to get the Internet connection to work. Could not find a large selection of sources for text. I had to download text via the build in modem. The packaging was well constructed. The controls and menus were easy to use.

REB 1100 better than kindle

REB 1100 better than kindle

I bought this ebook, the REB 1100 back in 2003. It is a little bigger than a typical paperback, but easy to take along wherever you go. The battery life is great, I recharge every 4-5 days. The kindle and the REB 1100 both are proprietary, that is, you...

Built like a tank.

This thing has been with me for around 8 years and still works as perfectly as the very first day. It came with a touch screen, a back light and a modem! Then "some" company comes around 10 years later with a book that has no touchscreen, nor any kind...
