I'm not a novice at using these devices - so ...

It never locks up with the ping test like some competitor units.

It serves out IP addresses faithfully - but would never allow any of my three computers to access the internet. Also, getting this modem to accept a dynamically served IP from the cable modem took an hour (still cannot explain why).
