I had tried two other mandolines and they were not sharp so did not slice well. I use mine mostly for slicing veggies. This blade is SHARP. In fact, even though I read all the warnings, I cut a tiny tip off my little finger. Even so, I love it.

easy to clean but when you put bowl on base it takes a little effort to get lined up so i put a tiny mark with magic marker on the bowl and it looks like it belongs there and makes bowl placement easy.

So, I bought this CTS1048 model again. I bought the first CTS1048 about 3 years ago and use it 180 days a year. It is still working. The second one will be a spare in case of breakdown of the older one. There is no reason to cheer about this product....
