Doesn't chop vegetables, it pulps them

I bought this after seeing all the positive reviews about it for chopping vegetables, which is what I wanted it for. Well, it simply doesn't do the job, especially with onions. I tried putting onions in the main section using the blade. This gave me...

A nice basic processor, ideal for the tedious task of grating, which is the main reson for purchase. Not used it very much so far butit does make a good bread dough in a very short time. Very pleased with it so far.
