I've not had any sort of blender before. I bought it mainly for soups, but I have also used it to stir custard, and to thicken cream. It works well, easy to operate. Would recommend.

The hand blender is light and easy to use. Comes apart in the middle to clean. It has 2 speed settings and works really well when making a smooth soup or sauce.

Tried making a smoothie the first day I used it using a banana and strawberry yoghurt, it made a loud nice, smoked then rattled. The blade stopped turning and rattled! So disappointed, total waste of money.

I am pleased with the hand blender and use it for blending garlic and ginger to a paste for curries, it seems to struggle a bit but the results are fine. It is amazingly easy to clean which is a real bonus.
