There's good stuff happening inside of it, too. Despite larger temperature swings than you'll see with more expensive models, GE's fridge held its own in our tests, with consistent, dependable averages and no worrisome warm spots. With 17.5 cubic feet...

The budget-friendly GE GTE18GMHES sports an attractive, fingerprint-resistant slate finish, and it offers satisfying cooling performance at the recommended settings.

The fridge has few features to speak of and only a single temperature dial controlling a single evaporator. That means you can't adjust the fridge temperature without adjusting the freezer temperature, too.

This is a very basic fridge, but it keeps food cold reliably well and looks good doing it. If you're in the market for something simple yet stylish, it deserves a close look.
