Mickey Mouse has to clean up the mess he created in The Sorcerer's Apprentice, armed only with a brush, paint, and thinner.

A strange, captivating journey into a Disney-style wasteland. Adaptive soundtrack. Nostalgic flourishes. Open-ended gameplay.

Plenty of junk in the wasteland. Poor controls, poorer camera placement. Lackluster on HDTV. Too many instructions to start with, too few later. Single player only.

At times, painting and thinning seems gimmicky. Thinning is fairly selective; I could only erase certain chunks of walls or pieces of bridges. Perhaps this is for the best, especially considering Disney's target audience; if you could remove anything,...

Epic Mickey

Epic Mickey for Nintendo Wii has creative side-scrolling sequences but the gameplay is alternately boring and frustrating

Wonderful and gutsy concept that explores the darker reaches of the Disney universe, creative side-scrolling sequences, Mickeyjunk Mountain

Gameplay is alternately boring and frustrating, poor camera, some shaky jumping physics, dull missions prominently feature tedious tasks, campaign lacks momentum, story even seems underdeveloped in the campaign

Monotonous gameplay, a wonky and frustrating camera, and an underdeveloped campaign strip this otherwise creative and conceptually sound adventure of its "epic" status.
