Nvidia Shield Review

With the Shield, Nvidia aims to deliver a powerful gaming handheld centered around the Android ecosystem and the ability to stream PC games locally onto a mobile device. It's an ambitious endeavor, but is the Nvidia Shield able to achieve those lofty...

NVIDIA SHIELD Review | In addition to running Android games, the NVIDIA SHIELD can also stream PC games by basically turning your PC into a private cloud gaming service like Onlive or Gaikai

I wouldn’t be surprised to hear very heated debates about people should get a SHIELD. It is an “extreme” device which has been designed to offer a “no-compromise” Android Gaming experience, and this is exactly what it delivers. Like any other extreme...

Nvidia Shield Wireless Controller

If you have an Nvidia Shield Tablet or Shield Portable, the Shield Wireless Controller is a very handy gamepad. If you don't, it's pretty much a paperweight.

Solid build quality. Comfortable. Responsive. Headphone jack is handy

Only works with Nvidia Shield devices

The Nvidia Shield (now the Shield Portable) is an intriguing combination of Android tablet and portable gaming device. The new Shield Tablet boasts much more power and the same gamer-friendly focus as the Shield Portable, but it lacks the built-in...

NVIDIA Shield review (update: video!)

More InfoHands-on with NVIDIA ShieldNVIDIA Shield now $300NVIDIA Shield ships July 31stNVIDIA Shield is a truly strange device. It combines

Fast and powerful ; Gorgeous screen ; Excellent media player ; Impressive battery life

Heavy, not very portable ; Gamepad needs work, thumbsticks too low

The Shield is a pleasant surprise and quite an impressive device. It's not the portable console you're looking for, but it's also so much more than that.

Nvidia Shield review

Last summer, I bought an iPad 3. I convinced myself I'd use it for everything: showing off wedding photos, reading all those neglected articles I save to Pocket, and as a second monitor for my laptop.

Excellent screen ; Killer controls ; Solid battery life ; PC gaming anywhere in the house

Android isn't a great gaming platform ; PC streaming requires expensive hardware ; How do you hold it for anything else

Is Android ready for a portable game console?

NVIDIA Shield Review: At the Crossroads of PC and Mobile Gaming

NVIDIA is doing something different with Tegra 4, very different. To bring up its silicon, each vendor usually makes a reference design phone and tablet with a selection of approved components, packages a BSP (Board Support Package), and ships that and...

I enjoyed the time I spent with NVIDIA Shield. While it isn't perfect, for NVIDIA's first consumer electronic mobile device, it's an amazingly well put together piece of kit. Build quality is so good I told Anand that I wanted to try running it over...

Delivered in NVIDIA SHIELD is the first full-fledged mobile device crossover into the desktop gaming universe. SHIELD is an Android-based physical gaming controller with its own clamshell hinge-attached display, powered by NVIDIA's newest mobile...

This is just the beginning. It's immediately apparent that SHIELD is capable of doing a lot more than we're seeing here at launch, and not just in gaming. With wireless projection and this unit's HDMI out paired with low-latency PC mirroring, wireless...

Nvidia Shield Review

The Nvidia Shield takes mobile gaming in an exciting new direction with a powerful Tegra 4 processor, a slew of high-quality games and the ability to wirelessly stream PC titles.

Blistering overall and graphical performance; Tight, springy controls; Fairly customizable; Loud, full audio; Long battery life

Heavy and somewhat bulky design; Not a 1080p display; PC Streaming works with desktops only (for now) and only over local networks

The Nvidia Shield takes mobile gaming in an exciting new direction with a powerful Tegra 4 processor, a slew of high-quality games and the ability to wirelessly stream PC titles.
