Adidas miCoach Smart Run review: the almost-perfect training partner

When we first heard about the Adidas Smart Run, we were more than a little eager to try it out. If you're both a techie and a runner, then the boatload o

Performs the job of multiple devices ; Real-time training plans ; Well-built hardware

Poor battery life ; Music playback too quiet ; Unable to export your data

The Adidas miCoach Smart Run is effectively a personal trainer, run tracker and media player you wear on your wrist. It has a premium feel and performs well, but poor battery life and a high price dampen our enthusiasm.

Adidas miCoach Smart Run review

Smart watches are all the rage at the moment, particularly those designed for sports. Adidas has added the Smart Run watch to its miCoach personal training system and crammed it full of tech. It includes a strapless heart rate monitor, GPS tracking,...

Heart rate without wearing a chest strap, easy to read, customisable display, music playback via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi auto syncs runs data

Battery life is awful, docking station needed to charge it

As a dedicated sports watch that you only use on training runs the Adidas MiCoach Smart Run smartwatch is fantastic. The interface is clear, the granular detail that you can access through the miCoach website is superb, and the ability to get your...

Adidas miCoach Smart Run

Adidas's first running watch is well off the pace.

Comfortable design ; Wrist-based heart rate monitor ; Simple miCoach system

Terrible battery life ; Expensive ; Requires a charging dock

Even with only a basic array of swipe and tap gestures, the watch is easy to control, even when plodding along on a run. What’s more, the screen is easy to read in most lighting conditions, from brightly lit rooms to gloomy night time runs.

Adidas' MiCoach Smart Run wants to be your training partner, but does this smartwatch have the legs to keep up with you?

As smart as they come, but not quite fit enough to keep up

Does everything you could want from a fitness gadget, but at the cost of battery life

In spite of this major flaw, the MiCoach is still one of the most comprehensive fitness gadgets around. It eliminates the need for an MP3 player and separate heart rate monitor, has an in-depth training scheduler and doesn't need to be connected to a...

Adidas MiCoach Smart Run review: Smart enough?

Nike, TomTom, Jawbone, Withings; they all want to help you get fit - or at least want you to buy their products to do so. Wearable sports fitness items have gone berserk since 2012, when bits of plastic worn around the wrist started telling us that we...

The battery and the dock are something of a pain, and the weak Wi-Fi connection can be a farce but using the Adidas miCoach Smart Run watch to get you fit is certainly a better way to go it than on your own. All the same, it does cost £300.

Best running watch with all the functions I needed

I'm training for a half marathon and have been using this watch 6 days a week for the past two months. I love that it can track runs with gps, show heartrate without a chest strap, does audible coaching, and plays music via bluetooth. Great watch but...

Hope it lasts

I bought this on a whim since it was about $100 less. I did not take the time to read reviews beforehand. When I actually got around to it, I noticed some issues with durability, like functions failing after some use. I hope my watch doesn't have those...
