Great basic GPS unit

 

This is a great basic golf GPS unit. It reads the distance from any area on the course to the front of the green, to the center of the green, and to the back of the green. If you need anything more than that, then it's not a GPS unit that's going to...

It's basic, nothing too complicated

Poor web interface and inadequate course database limits Celestron Golf GPS utility

 

I was looking for an inexpensive golf GPS unit for casual use. (I currently use a Garmin eTrek with waypoints I set myself-- works OK for center of green locations but not front edge and back edge).

Not innovative / not what is needed

 

The Celestron units provide only the distance to the front, center and back of the green. What about hazards and other landmarks that would be good to know to avoid water or a fairway bunker? Secondly, they want to charge for each course - I saw $2.99...
