Garmin eTrex 30 Handheld GPS Navigator

This was my first PCNation purchase but will not be the last. Shipping was free & product arrived in just over 1 day. Usually can't pay for shipping like that where I live!

Have not had the chances to use it much yet but it is much faster & more accurate than my previous GPS. It is a definite upgrade over my Garmin Legend

GPS for multiple uses

The set up was very easy. I like to Geocache, so no problems with downloading the point information. Good for several uses such as hiking, biking and other outdoor activities. Plus the price less expensive than other retailers.

Great GPS for geocaching

Overall so far it seems to be a great unit. Great satellite reception even under dense tree cover, and quick startup.

Great unit but should Include a basic topo map

Garmin Should consider that this is a hand held GPS that will be used primarily (by most) as a Hiking, Hunting, Fishing, Biking, ATV Riding etc. For this reason it should come with at least a basic topo map installed. I can understand that they want to...

Great GPS on land or water.

I have used this mostly on the water. Although it runs off AA batteries they will work for a while. Most of the time one set of batteries will last the whole day. This GPS has great features as well.

Generally good unit except ...

Typical quality Garmin unit except ... If you're into geocahing - great. If not, it's very difficult to hide the geocahing points from the map. Also, the startup screen is so dim it can't be read. Registered my unit with Garmin and accessed their...

Generally typical Garmin quality.

Incomprehensible shortcomings.
