Garmin ecoRoute HD

Garmin's ecoRoute HD ($149.99, list) is a Bluetooth-enabled hardware add-on for select ecoRoute-enhanced nüvi navigation devices. Plug the ecoRoute HD into your car's ODB-II port and pair it wirelessly with your Garmin GPS device, and the latter...

Simple setup. Helps improve driving efficiency. Detects engine codes. Can reset a check engine light

Only works with select Garmin nüvi PNDs. Can track only one car's historic trip performance at a time

The Garmin ecoRoute HD can help save you some cash, and it's a great (and spectacularly geeky) way to learn more about your car's engine, as well as your driving habits.

Review: Garmin Edge 305 GPS Review

A new review on the Garmin Edge 305 has come out and it's really thorough. The Garmin Edge 305 is a pretty sweet little "fitness computer" that helps you train and track your cycling. The heart of the system is the main computer that you attach to...

This is the bomb!

The unit itself is fairly small, just a bit bigger than most bike computers. I like the easy to attach mounting system and you can buy additional ones for all your bikes. Needing no sensors or wheel magnets is a huge plus. Setting up interval workouts...

Can use on multiple bikes, accurate, great software interface on pc/mac

changing display is a little complicated and not well explained in manual

Useful toy

Supposedly, there's more engine data available if you connect an Andriod device and have the appropriate app. Even if the app is free, I don't see why they didn't build the functionality into the GPS unit itself. - You'll have to enter actual fuel...

Simple OBDII reader ; Integrates nicely with compatible garmin units ; Makes tracking fuel economy easy, beats the features included in many modern cars

Limited gauges; On my 08 Ranger (2.3l duratec), it'll only read MAF, Manifold Pressure, timing advance, engine load, throttle position, rpm, intake air temp, coolant temp, and battery voltage. Interesting information, sure, but you have to know what...

Garmin ecoRoute HD

Although it duplicates some functions already available on some cars it adds several others. In my case my Prius (Hybrid) doesn\'t have a tachometer and the Garmin echoRoute HD adds that functionality as well many others.

Product Specifications

Take your ride to the next level with the Edge 305 - Garmin's GPS-enabled, personal trainer and cycle computer. From competitive road racing to mountain biking, the cyclist-friendly, lightweight Edge will help you achieve your personal best. With the easy-to-use Edge 305 on your bike, you'll always know where you're going and how far you've gone. For advanced cyclists, the Edge 305 comes packaged with either a heart rate monitor or wireless speed/pedaling cadence sensor to provide valuable feedback. Heart rate and speed cadence are also sold separately as accessories so you can incorporate both features into your training. In addition, the Edge 305 incorporates a barometric altimeter for extremely accurate elevation and vertical profile data. Recreational cyclists looking for the perfect touring companion and fitness partner will love the Edge 305. The Edge 305 with heart rate lets you see whether you are training too hard or not enough. The heart rate monitor uses a robust wireless technology that eliminates cross-talk and interference and sends heart rate data to the Edge via a soft, comfortable chest strap. This data is stored with each track point for post-workout analysis. The Edge 305 with cadence includes a self-calibrating, wireless speed/cadence sensor so you can monitor your pedaling cadence as you ride. Like the heart rate monitor, the speed/cadence sensor uses the same robust wireless technology to measure and report your pedaling strokes per minute. With its waterproof, sleek design, the Edge is the perfect companion on any bike, and attaches to either the stem or handlebars. Its rugged case frames an easy-to-read, large, backlit display that can show up to eight different data fields along with altitude and a map view. Included Training Center software gives you the ability to overlay your ride data onto a course map. It offers interactive analysis tools that measure your speed, distance, climb, and descent against varying terrain, elevation and more. Create and schedule custom workouts or use workout templates and download to the Edge.
