Anchor alarm is a joke

Bought this unit for 1 reason, to sit in our berth at night on our sailboat and function as an anchor alarm. Turns out the alarms on Garmin handhelds beep 3 times in about one second and then stop. The sound is hardly audible. An alarm should sound until the user shuts it off. I pointed this out to Garmin, they agreed it was an oversight and said maybe they might correct with firmware update, they haven't done so to date. Do not buy this unit if you need a useful alarm.

impossible to figure out. Loses signal under a tree!

Total waste of money.

nothing to like

Have to have the manual to figure anything out, but doesn't give good information anyway. Drops the signal constantly. Compass only works while you are moving. Where is the map? Total waste of money

this was a gift

This was for a friend, he seems happy with it. Haven't heard how it works on the open water.

Not User Friendly

I find this item very difficult to use and not very user friendly even with the help of the on-line manual. I find it very difficult to enter a way point. We geocache and I haven't done much since I replaced my broken one with this model.
