had to send back

This is a refurb model and came with the wrong cable. I called for the correct cable and they sent me the same cable again. Obviously the unit was never tested or they would have caught this. I sent the unit back.

Works perfectly!

Purchased in combination with the Forerunner 405 (#010-00658-10) for just slightly less than the 405 with the heart rate monitor included (#010-00658-20). I went this route because several reviewers commented on the spottiness of the heart rate...

If you are unfamilar with this unit, make sure you talk with PC nation before purchasing or you could be charged a return processing fee. The detailed mapping software is included on the 478 and 578. The cost of adding the detailed mapping software is...

Didn ; t have it long enough to find out as we returned it in a few days

We live on an island and it had our location in the ocean. Garmin tried software updates and but it was no help. Our location on their base map was off by a 1/2 mile. On our next contact with Garmin, they told us we would have to buy additional mapping...

Unit cannot operate without additional software and memory. Further, largest memory chip for this unit will only accommodate half the map data for the US. Do not waste your money.

Good product.

It's a Garmin. That pretty much says it all. Good overall quality and reliability. Best feature, to me, is it's total portability including rechargeable battery.

The plug for the A/C charger just will not plug into the unit's receptacle. Called Garmin and their "tech" basically told me to "force it" into place. Tried that, still no go. So, I recharge the unit using the D/C data cord only. I may return to Garmin...

I purchased this for dirt bike trail plotting because it has a large screen (important when you have dirty goggles on) and the buttons are far enough apart that you could operate it just fine with motorcycle gloves on. This isn't one of those cell...

Large screen, Tons of features, Rugged design, Buttons that are large enough and far enough apart that my big fingers don't press 5 of them at once, a lot of backlighting adjustment, and an automatic nightime mode that basically turns the display to a...

Maps are oversimplified, it only shows highways and freeway exits (but in a handheld device, I suppose it cant have everything) I would have hoped the software that came with it would have had more detailed maps so you could upload a detailed map for a...

Product Specifications

The GPSMAP 276C is an all-in-one, versatile, color chartplotter and automobile navigator - perfect for land or water. This portable GPS navigator features a 256-color TFT display that's easy to read in bright sun along with a built-in basemap and auto routing to provide you with turn-by-turn directions to the marina for a day of boating. On water, the GPSMAP 276C is a dependable, color chartplotter with a built-in Autoroute basemap enhanced by Garmin's marine cartography. It accepts pre-programmed or user programmed data cards with MapSource BlueChart for offshore detail or Recreational Lakes with Fishing Hot Spots for detail of inland lakes. In addition, the GPSMAP 276C supports external NMEA sources for water depth, water temperature, and water speed through two serial interfaces. The unit also features a Course Deviation Indicator (CDI) - an advanced navigation tool commonly found on aircraft, but equally practical in the marine environment. The CDI quickly indicates if a boat has veered off course. On land, the GPSMAP 276C's Americas or European Autoroute basemap features interstates and major highways. With an optional automotive kit that includes MapSource City Select software, data card, friction mount, and 12-volt power adapter with speaker, drivers can receive voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions to addresses and points of interest throughout the United States and Canada or Europe. For map transfer or software updates, the GPSMAP 276C features a fast USB-PC interface. The unit is also powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, or a standard 110-volt AC plug.
