Garmin GPSMap 60Cx Review

The other significant upgrade is that the 60Cx no longer utilizes the unit's built in memory for MapSource maps, but loads them to a microSD card instead (the unit comes with a 64 MB card). This means you have unlimited map storage capability, plus you...

Excellent field performance - crippled desktop software

This is my third handheld GPS and by far the best. I do a lot of hiking in very mountainous terrain and this faithfully works under the most extreme conditions including low valley under heavy tree & cloud cover. For coverage in Canada, a free topo map...

Quick synchronization - works well under heavy forest cover (west coast BC) - low battery draw with back light off - recent firmware upgrade, the unit will now support large topo maps (4GB) - easy navigation menus - good email technical support

Crippled desktop software. The print function has been killed for maps installed from their data CDs. If you purchased your maps on a microSD card, you cannot even view them on your computer.Nor can you backup the microSD card

Great unit but will drain wallet with upgrades.

I enjoy the unit quite a bit and will come in quite handy hunting in the deep forest. I was dismayed that the only roads, etc. on the unit were I-5. It became so frustrating and nonfunctional as a everyday driving GPS that I was forced to cough up $89...

Works well with my PC, rugged/ waterproof (up to 30min.) will provide extra security in deep forest hunting. Lots and lots of options. Computer suave dream toy(sort of)

No Maps of US, 1 GB Memory card will have to be replaced with more memory, Cheapest Garmin Map for step-by-step, functionality costs at least $89.95. Garmin should have provided either a great map or high end memory card

Great for Geocaching

I use this gps all the time for geocaching and road trips. I like to use it even when I know where I am going just so I have a better idea of my ETA.

Autorouting, Holds Lock in Cover, Color screen is easy to read in sunlight

A bigger memory card would be useful for road trips

Have not figured out how to use it.

This is the first GPS I have ever owned, and feel like I need an instrument person to get me up to speed on operating it. I still have it new in the box unused. It seems to me with a simple map I could do just as good. Anybody want to buy an unused...
