Garmin couldn't get it to work

Pre-ordered this as it was exactly what I needed to help me in my job as I do a lot of driving.I found the traffic guidance really usefull, but after about 3 weeks it started to freeze and would need to have a complete reset to get it to work again....

Get lost or otherwise

After years of TomTom, this was a good decision. Very easy to use, provided you avoid any fords it directs you through. Split 3D screen at motorway junctions is good. My only criticism is the time it takes to update maps (hours +) and the fact that...

Buy a map instead

This is the second Garmin satnav we've bought in 2 years. We sold the first one on ebay one month later because we didn't like the way it directed the route (compared to our old Navman). The instructions to turn (R or L) came so late that you've often...

Fantastic - when it's working!!!!

This replaced my Garmin Nuvi that had worked great for many years, but past it's sell by date. Looked great on the reviews for the price and it is, but only when it's working, which it often isn't! You can be driving on the M1 or M25, for example,...

NuLink 2390

Just undated my Garmin 265 with the Nulink 2390 and I'm very impressed. Took me a couple of hours to set everything up and upgrade the software and maps etc but it's well worth setting everything up correctly before you start using. The google search...

Initial thoughts

1)The cables supplied are nasty - the micro USB to connect to PC is very short, the car cable is very stiff so doesn't keep out of the way as well as the more flexible but heavier traffic lead on my 205WT. Also the use of micro USB on the unit means I...

England Only?

I suppose Garmin thought it was unwise to come out and overstate that their flagship PhotoLive gadget only covered roads in England. So they've kept that very quiet with no notices on any manuals or packaging that it will be a white elephant to the...

New to SatNavs, totally converted

Having resisted the lure of sat nav technology until now, I have been converted. There are so many whistles and bells on the Garmin that it keeps the passenger entertained on long journeys - in particular the Ecoroute feature, which is quite...

Garmin nuLink

Still getting used to this one after my TomTom - have to change the voice too schoolmarmish for me - Bridget on TomTom was more soothing. Not always accurate in directions - but great live pics of motorways ahead and how to avoid jams.
