Garmin Nuvi 2455LMT GPS receiver

In my review of the Garmin Nuvi 50 (Essential Series), I stated that Garmin's interface for its entry-level portable navigation devices hasn't changed much over the last decade. So color me surprised when, upon booting up the Garmin Nuvi 2495LMT, I was...

The Garmin Nuvi 2495LMT 's updated interface makes searching for destinations and navigation both faster and more precise. Garmin's truly hands-free voice command system is one of the best in the portable navigation business. Lifetime map and traffic...

The Bluetooth connection doesn't sync with a phone's address book. Slow map rendering hinders overall performance.

With its improved interface, the Garmin Nuvi 2495LMT (Advanced Series) is as easy to use as earlier models, while offering a good blend of advanced features at a reasonable price.

Garmin nuvi 2455LT

The Garmin nüvi 2455LT is a low-end model in Garmin's 2012 nuvi Advanced series line, but don't let that fool you – the 2455LT is packed with features. One of the more significant refreshes in recent years, the Advanced series adds several new...

Strong customization options ; Exit services ; Lifetime traffic ; POIs can be displayed on the map ; Offers several choices of routes ; Extensive junction view and lane assist coverage ; Advanced detours allow you to exclude roads from active route ;...

Traffic is ad-supported and is beginning to get more intrusive with coupon icons appearing on the map screen when moving ; No powered mount ; Slight lag in menu responsiveness

Highly recommended. Even with my love of powered mounts (missing here), the nuvi Advanced series rocks. New (and very useful) customization options, exit services and choices of routes will tempt many nuvi owners to upgrade. It looks like Garmin has...

Garmin Nuvi 2455LM

Lifetime map updates ; Navteq maps are much improved ; Route recalculation" message removed

Safety camera location coverage is patchy ; Price may be too steep for some ; Junction search not enabled by default ; Most side streets hidden by default

For those looking for a car GPS that will remain current for years and years to come, the Garmin Nuvi 2455LM's lifetime map updates are worth the price premium. For others, though, there are cheaper or better-featured alternatives that do the job just...

Planning on buying this.......

I am planning on buying this so I looked up some info on it first. I response to the one bad review, maybe the manuals directions were not clear. RE: Your device can receive traffic information using a compatible Garmin traffic receiver or a traffic...

Good price. easy to use although there is a learning curve and you do need to read the instruction manuals with these, to learn how

Learning to use it can be a little overwhelming if you don't take some time with it BEFORE you NEED it

Really good device

I borrowed an identical unit on a trip to Canada before I purchase and was the reason I got this as I loved the borrowed one. Found all my address (hotel, zoo, tourist areas, etc), perfect routing. Used the POI since my cell phone did not work in...

Simple, fast to find satellite, easy to navigate menu, good POI, fast re-calculation, free map updates and traffic

Re routs when you chose to after traffic delays are display are not the best

Poor TTS voice quality and a pain to update

Relatively inexpensive since it's a refurb

1) Maps are a PAIN to update. First, the internal storage is full out-of-the-box, so the updater won't let you install new maps. You are immediately out $6-$10 because you'll need to buy a microSD card to supply extra storage space. Second, even after...
