Garmin nüvi 1390T

Despite pesky ads that come with free lifetime traffic, the Garmin nüvi 1390 brings many high-end navigation features down to a budget price point. And it helps you drive more efficiently.

Accurate navigation. Smooth map animation with plenty of road speed limit signs. Well-timed voice prompts. Two lane assist modes. Pedestrian routing enhanced with (optional) cityXplorer maps.

Lifetime traffic comes with frequent ads, even if you turn the feature off. No 3D landmarks or multi-segment routing.

Garmin nuvi 1390T GPS unit

Garmin's latest flagship GPS unit is the nuvi 1390T. It's a slim and compact GPS device that features a number of new features, including an excellent...

Slim and compact design, responsive touch screen, fast rerouting times and GPS fix, effective UI, great lane guidance, Bluetooth, New Zealand maps included

Map lacks detail compared with competitors, traffic antenna built into car-charger, no FM transmitter, Bluetooth hands-free microphone isn't great

Simple but effective maps, clear voice instructions, fantastic lane guidance and a speedy GPS receiver make for an excellent navigational experience on the whole. The Garmin nuvi 1390T may not be as flashy as some competitors, but it more than makes up...

Garmin nuvi 1390T Sat-Nav

James takes to the road with the Garmin nuvi 1390T sat-nav.

The Garmin nuvi 1390T’s current street price puts it on par with Mio’s Navman Spirit 500 and TomTom’s XL IQ Routes Europe 42, although the latter doesn’t include live traffic updates. Choosing between the Garmin and the Mio is tough, as they match each...

Garmin Nuvi 1390T

Simple, clean interface. Lane guidance for almost every road.

Traffic messaging is hit and miss. Bluetooth hands-free just passable. Not particularly flash.

There's nothing particularly flash about it, but the 1390T is a solid and dependable choice, with traffic, lane guidance, Aussie and NZ maps, and Bluetooth hands-free amongst its features.

Garmin Nuvi 1390T review

Garmin GPS units aren't well renowned for flashy designs, instead preferring to keep things simple. There are no brushed aluminium-style finishes or glossy touch screens here; the Garmin Nuvi 1390T is a basic looking GPS unit with a gloss black frame...
