Garmin nuvi 255WT

The Garmin nüvi 255WT is one of Garmin's entry level navigators and, as part of the nuvi 2×5 series, it's loaded with features previously unavailable in the nuvi line or found only in high-end models. More about that in a moment; first the basics.

The Garmin nuvi 255WT is a joy to use. I recommend it, or any other member of the nuvi 2×5 series, without hesitation. Garmin has set a new standard with this product line; the nuvi 2×5 series is the best entry level GPS on the market.

just ok for a GPS that price

I totally agree with jhacker, the GPS is fine but has some problems, i also got it on black friday, the sales man said that it as fm traffic enabled but didnt mention that it needs a $%&ing reciever. now it shows traffic icon but does not give any good...

Didn't work as well as needed it to. Missed major exit.

I have used Garmin in the past and haven't been disappointed..until I bought this one for myself. I checked reviews on this product, which were great, so I chose this one. First time I used it I took an 8 hr trip of which took me through St. Louis, Mo....

For the most part it was correct, got me to my destination

Took me right past a MAJOR exit, which cost me an additional 25 min. Also needed a service store, took me to some office building

Great mid-line product that has come down on price

This is a great product for the price but if you can afford the additional 20 or so dollars....The Garmin 265WT is newer technology with regard to navigation Updated on Dec 20, 2009

New 2010 North America Map Update as well as downloads for different vehicle icons and voices for the text to speech...Lifetime traffic updates...My wife said it navigated her past the toll booths in Dallas to her sons address perfectly

Didn't find our home address when determining longitude and latitide....will have to find a work around

Great choice for the price

I got this on Black Friday with a good discount. I bought the 255WT because of the lifetime traffic updates, spoken street names, and larger screen. Some friends recommended Garmin over the other brands due to ease-of-use. Personally, I go for features...

Spoken street names, larger screen size, free map updates for 60 days, traffic updates

Sometimes turns are not announced well enough in advance, computer cable not included, traffic updates only in major markets

ok-ish, wish the reception was better

this is a good device for the price (if you got it on black friday) its very slick, easy to use, however, when tring to add additional software to the device (i.e points of interests, cars etc) its extremely difficult!! i had a tom tom before and they...

Traffic freak-outs

This is a good GPS, but the traffic feature seems to only cause more problems. I purchased it before I moved to LA, thinking it could help me avoid traffic, but since there's traffic almost everywhere, the GPS can't make a decision quickly enough and...

Love it so much we both have one!!!

I bought this model because my husband already had one and it was very easy to use. I really don't like the suction cup mount so I bought one of the ones that is like a bean bag and sits on the dash. You can see the map really well because of its size....
