This wall charge is something I got as an auxiliary aide when I bought my GPS so that if needed, I could charge my Garmin GPS from an ordinary 110V AC wall socket if I had to do some extensive programming in the house, or if the GPS hadn't been used...

This is a great product if you want to direct wire your Garmin to the fuse box in your car. You no longer has to mess with the power cord that comes with the Garmin.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 765T in front of me and there's no place the pictured connector would fit. The 765T uses a mini-USB plug for external charging. If I'm not mistaken this applies to most current and recent Garmins.

From the description I thought I needed it but the power charger was included with my Garmin Nuvi 760. I still have the power adapter, never used it so far since it is just easier to take the Nuvi with its power charger from one car to the other.

Ironically I think this is more durable than the Garmin version that came with the unit I purchased. The original broke within two months of purchase and this one has taken its fair share of abuse by the family and still holding strong a year later!

I bought this to use with the Nuvi cradle of the RAM Mount system as the GPS doesn't get much more than 4 hours of battery usage. However, the Nuvi mount cradle doesn't use the Garmin power system and the GPS must be directly powered. Specifically...

Warning - This plugs in the unit only through the GPS holder, no good on its own. GPS holders seem to cost $40 area, please share if u see anything cheaper
