I Don't Need No Stinkin' GPS! Wait...Garmin 1300 Review

I know it is stereotypical, but it is true. I was being stubborn, I don't need a GPS, I know where I am going, I know directions, I do not get lost, as I drive around the same block ten times! However, Mrs. Duckling being wise, purchases a Garmin nuvi ...

Map updates included, four times a year, great screen size

A little hard to read on sunny days

Garmin nuvi 1300 review

The Garmin nüvi 1300 is a relatively low-end unit in a recently introduced nuvi series, albeit one with a 4.3” widescreen. It comes pre-loaded with maps of the entire United States with the exception of Alaska.

As with the entire nuvi series, I expect that most buyers will be quite happy with the 1300. If the ability to customize the map display or use of CityXplorer maps is important to you, I highly recommend this unit. Otherwise, you may wish to consider...

This is the worst GPS product I have ever used.

I want to throw this piece of garbage in the trash EVERY TIME I use it. It NEVER gives the quickest route (and yes, I've made sure the setting is correct). It always sends me through some stupid small city streets with traffic and lights and adds a ton...

The product will find the destination if you program in the address, but that's the only Pro

1) It takes over one minute for it to load maps once on ; 2) It has so little Point of Interest programmed in that it only finds about 1/4 of anything I try to search for ; 3) It does NOT give the quickest directions (I've checked the setting)

Don't know what everyone is griping about, mine's fine!

I have nothing bad to say about my Garmin. I also find it irritating when people rubbish a product just because they happen to get a bad one. As far as three in a row? I think you're full of it; you're probably the type that would complain if your ice...

Touch screen, accuracy, quick downloads (even wireless), nice size, great windscreen mount

None after one year of use

So far, so good. Best if destinatinon address is known

During an unplanned visit (Funeral) to Orange County, CA without AAA Map; we could not find a certain destination in the city of San Clemente. Nor could local persons or persons at the destination find us. We were stranded. In the Hertz rental car we...

Where am I? " is best feature ; Intuitive override is tolerated - Infinitely patient when instructions are ignored - simply triggers "Recalculating ; 4.3" width & power port perfect for Toyota Prius center console

Could not find Salinas, CA ! Had to use a Salinas Motel Brand instead ; Had to purchase USB Cable tor downloading up to date navigation data ; First 'free' download took 5 HOURS on wireless connection. Documentation was inadequate

Loser GPS!

The first trip I use it, it was terrific one-way and to return that evening it was dead. The GPS would not turn on. My first Garmin GPS was in the 200-series and awesome. This one is a Garmin LOSER! I'm a road-warrior and depend on a GPS to do my job....

Love the size and voice directions

It died and left me stranded after one use

A big dud!

The Garmin Nuvi 1300T may be well-rated, but our experience was terrible. It functioned satisfactorily, but two units becoming unusable within three weeks of purchase speaks to bad quality control.

It was fairly good at quickly finding the best route

We purchased one that lasted three weeks and died -- went dead and would not come back on. We replaced that unit and the second died, just as the first. These were not refurbished -- they were new
