Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT GPS receiver

In my review of the Garmin Nuvi 50 (Essential Series), I stated that Garmin's interface for its entry-level portable navigation devices hasn't changed much over the last decade. So color me surprised when, upon booting up the Garmin Nuvi 2495LMT, I was...

The Garmin Nuvi 2495LMT 's updated interface makes searching for destinations and navigation both faster and more precise. Garmin's truly hands-free voice command system is one of the best in the portable navigation business. Lifetime map and traffic...

The Bluetooth connection doesn't sync with a phone's address book. Slow map rendering hinders overall performance.

With its improved interface, the Garmin Nuvi 2495LMT (Advanced Series) is as easy to use as earlier models, while offering a good blend of advanced features at a reasonable price.

Garmin nuvi 2555LT review

The Garmin nüvi 2555LT is a mid-range unit in Garmin's 2012 nuvi Advanced series line. One of the more significant refreshes in recent years, the Advanced series adds several new customization options, improved search functionality and Exit Services....

5” screen ; Strong customization options ; Exit services ; Lifetime traffic ; POIs can be displayed on the map ; Offers several choices of routes ; Extensive junction view and lane assist coverage ; Advanced detours allow you to exclude roads from...

Traffic is ad-supported and is beginning to get more intrusive with coupon icons appearing on the map screen when moving ; No powered mount

Highly recommended. Even with my love of powered mounts (missing here), the nuvi Advanced series rocks. New (and very useful) customization options, exit services and other strong features will tempt many nuvi owners to upgrade. It looks like Garmin...

"A fantastically priced piece of garbage."

Don't buy the2555LMT. Get something else, but not this.

It has a wide screen.

It is ecxtremely non-user friendly; the older nuvi units are much more user friendly and easier to operate.

"Many great features but not all of them work properly."

This is a solid GPS device with most features you need. I recently took a trip to Toronto where I put many of it's features through their paces. The navigation guidance features are superb. The voice nav is very accurate and there is tons of...

The new photo-realistic junction view makes even the most intimidating interchanges a cinch to navigate. Many layouts and options can be customized. Has an "apps" section that includes a handy trip planner. Has an exit services feature.

- Screen resolution is a bit low

"Avoid this product it has engineering bugs."

Works great untill you let garmin do an update.

Clear display/Fast routing & rerouting. Very east to use untill you update maps.

After updating the device was useless. Gives error message "NO MAPPING DATA AVAILABLE". Returned to BB- Geeks said 4th 1 returned w/ same issue. Exchanged it w/ another same model & SAME problem as 1st after updating.

Only been 2 weeks, but the unit works great so far. Plugged it in, installed garmins's software and updated all the maps, turned it on and was good to go. Took one star off features because it doesn't have enough built in memory for the entire map...
