The Garmin StreetPilot i series benefits from ease of use, an accurate GPS receiver, and affordability.

A downside of the Garmin StreetPilot i series is its small screen.

Don't let its diminutive size fool you--the Garmin StreetPilot i series is a powerful, feature-rich GPS system with an extremely user-friendly interface.

Loved it until it died within the first month

I got this GPS as a Christmas present, and I loved everything about it until it died today, 18 Jan 2007. The USB port dislodged and is no longer usable. I'm contacting Garmin to see what they can do about it. There is supposed to be a one year warranty.

Product Specifications

The StreetPilot i2 is the monochrome version in the i-series StreetPilots - a new line of small, inexpensive automotive GPS navigators that make driving fun. The i2 provides voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions through a built-in speaker, and the unit easily moves from vehicle to vehicle with an integrated suction cup mount. Garmin has also added the ability for customers to augment the pre-loaded maps with custom POI's from industry-standard CSV files, such as school zones and safety cameras. In addition, a proximity-alert feature is included to optionally warn the driver of upcoming custom POI's. The i2 features a high-contrast backlit FSTN monochrome display. Motorists can choose from either a three-dimensional mapping perspective, or a 2D overhead view.
