Pint Sized Navigator- Garmin i2 Review

It may be the smallest in the Garmin SatNav range but for 90 poundsyou get one hell of a deal. Our week long test with the i2 put many systems four times the price to shame as the baby SatNav got us from A to B again and again all for less than the...

Great little machine

I would buy this unit just on price alone. I'm very happy with the results.

I've been looking to buy this unit since last year. I have access to a friends TomTom GPS when I go on trips. But I wanted something smaller and at a lower cost. The little unit works just fine for my needs

No Color, but knew that when i bought it. Also bought an antenna for better reception. I thought I was having problems with reception ; But the Streetpilot takes about a minute to get a good signal. Unlike a TomTom that starts right up from the start....

Gets the job done and decently

Overall, excellent price and works well. The only questionable aspect is receiving the sat signal initially at times. Still better than being lost in the city.

Does what it's supposed to do. To/from, poi's, recalculates route, easily viewable visual comparison to your surroundings. Good price and invaluable if you travel frequently

Screen is a tad small for viewing text directions displayed at top of screen. Sometimes has problems receiving sat signals. At one point it actually took about 20 minutes to be usable. Not good when on a schedule. This tends to be after setting for 8+...

GARMIN StreetPilot i2 GPS Navigation System

I do not recommend this device for long distance travel.

The device is good and will get you to your destination when it is operating properly

Constantly loses satellite connection

Great Value

Has everything you need in a car GPS.

Scroll wheel interface takes a bit of getting used to.

Love it

Great size, does the job, easy to read in direct light, good battery life.

Screen is a tad small, wheel is too easy to spin and too hard to click, maps not always accurate.

Product Specifications

The StreetPilot i2 is the monochrome version in the i-series StreetPilots - a new line of small, inexpensive automotive GPS navigators that make driving fun. The i2 provides voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions through a built-in speaker, and the unit easily moves from vehicle to vehicle with an integrated suction cup mount. Garmin has also added the ability for customers to augment the pre-loaded maps with custom POI's from industry-standard CSV files, such as school zones and safety cameras. In addition, a proximity-alert feature is included to optionally warn the driver of upcoming custom POI's. The i2 features a high-contrast backlit FSTN monochrome display. Motorists can choose from either a three-dimensional mapping perspective, or a 2D overhead view.
