MapSource software, external antenna port, USB connection
City-point mapping is no substitute for graphical base map, slow signal acquisition, cluttered with irrelevant software

Simple to use, IPX-7 casing, configurable routes and waypoints
No base map or detailed maps, monochrome LCD, serial PC connection, inadequate control of navigation
Although the eTrex H might suit those hikers who want nothing except the bare minimum, most will find it largely unusable. Inadequate functionality and no base map makes the unit extremely hard to use for anyone except the most experienced hikers, and ...

Rugged design, accurate location and speed capability, expandable memory, Vantage Point software
Steep learning curve, some reception difficulties, odd USB connection design
The Triton 400 provides the perfect companion for travelling and hiking. It doesn't offer the luxuries of Magellan's more expensive models, but it provides the necessities for successful travel at a fairly reasonable cost.

Vista-related gripes, much faster on Mac OS X than Windows, expensive, for everyday users
Poser Pro is expensive for non-professional users, but with TV and commercial budgets getting squeezed all the time, it's a relatively low-cost solution for getting decent-quality character animation into a professional 3-D pipeline.
