Garmin Edge 1000 review

The Garmin Edge 1000 is a data junkie's fix that makes you a better rider. And without data, a ride is just a ride.

Data, data, data! ; Compact and lightweight ; Wi-Fi, Ant+, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity ; Easy to use mapping

Lackluster display, compared to most modern phones ; Riding with maps takes some getting used to ; Battery life could be better

Garmin Edge 1000

Garmin's Edge 1000 offers top-notch navigation and full-fledged activity tracking, though you'll pay a premium for all these features.

Uses street names in navigation. Can plan multi-stop routes. Ride data available in app.

Some routing hiccups. Rather pricey.

Bluetooth, Sensors, and Conclusions Using the free Garmin Connect app, you can pair your smartphone with the Edge 1000 and track your routes, receive calls and texts, view weather information, post to social media, and send or receive courses or...

Garmin Edge 1000 Review

The Garmin Edge 1000 is perfect for a serious cyclist who wants the ultimate in functionality in a bike GPS unit. You can attach an array of sensors to it, connect it via Bluetooth to your smartphone and use it in ways cyclists only dreamed of using...

It has premium smartphone integration.

The device is almost as large and as pricey as the phone you'll pair it with.

The Garmin Edge 1000 has more functionality than any other bike GPS, making it one of the very best GPS units for avid cyclists.

The 1000 is the latest and greatest bike computer from Garmin, with a record-breaking price tag. It links to your smartphone to offer some incredible features, but the problem is that the best one of all will inevitably have to filter down to cheaper...

Many New Features over the Edge 800

Love the clarity and contrast of the screen, the wireless transfer and the bigger screen. Also, seems to be a lot faster. Only complaint is that when trying to navigate a route, it will not sort it by distance from current location, so I need to search...

Nice, but over priced

Works as advertised except for text and phone calls. Those don't work at all. Polar has better info review. Like the large display. Easy to see while riding.

Great but pricy

Bought this for a trip bicycle touring around Japan, a great bit of kit with a reasonably intuitive interface once you have tried it a couple of times. Just very expensive in comparison to car satnav
