Had problems from beginning

I mostly disliked the product...At time of purchase it was the only one I could find that would fit my vehicle, and I wanted a navigation system. The sound issues could have been because downgraded from the factory JBL.

Allows you to operate navigation and play DVD's when driving. Navigation works well after initial calibration problems

The sound goes in and out (possibly install issue) XM had issues. Sometimes hear music and see "no signal" on display, but no sound. It takes forever upload to HDD. Hard to arrange folders. CD will resume at correct time. HDD starts it over

From a scale of 1-10 I would say this product is a 6.5.

They should have a software that upgrades this product.

This product is great for audio purposes

Had trouble with the bluetooth options, and my navigation doesn't work, it froze at one location and stopped working

Almost but fatal flaws

Fatal flaw with this device, when playing music from the hard drive YOU CANNOT PAUSE OR STOP. Seriously you cannot pause or stop when playing music that you ripped to it's internal hard drive, checked the manual and those buttons are not used when...

Great features, Bad interface

I bought this unit three months ago and have been mostly satisfied with it. This unit is loaded with features and is maybe the most loaded unit in the market these days but there are some things that don't make it the best receiver yet.

Multi format media support, Real time traffic, Many module add ons, Good quality screen, great navigation, POI search is awesome

Bad interface, big & non-illuminated remote control, no touch screen, no audio progression in HDD playback, complicated menus, bad font, no updates/customizations

The JVC KD-NX5000 is a 1-DIN HDD-navigation DVD/CD receiver with a built-in 3.5-inch monitor. This receiver has a built in HDD with a total of a 40GB capacity: 16GB for map navigation and 24GB for music. The superb HDD navigation provides quick and easy destination search, with data on more than 13 million points of interest (POI). The music server can store approximately 5000 songs in MP3, WAV or WMA format. You can navigate and play CDs at the same time. With additional devices, the KD-NX5000 is also compatible with Bluetooth Wireless Technology, a rear-view camera, and an iPod.
