Lowrance Endura Out&Back review

This review was written by Troy Bryan, AKA StarBrand on geocaching.com's Groundspeak forums. My initial review of the Lowrance Endura Sierra wasn't exactly glowing, so after seeing positive reports about recent firmware updates, I asked Troy if he'd...

Lowrance Endura Sierra review

The Lowrance Endura Sierra is the high-end model in the recently introduced Endura product line. It includes preloaded Accuterra™ “high-resolution” topo maps, a trails and POI database and NAVTEQ® roads for the 48 contiguous United States. Turn-by-turn...

I’m not able to recommend the Lowrance Endura Sierra for most users. In a lot of respects, this unit just isn't ready for the market. Future firmware upgrades could significantly improve the feature set, but that remains to be seen. The only folks who...

Lowrance Endura Out & Back

We were disappointed with Lowrance's customer service offerings, and we missed some of the added features that are standard on other Endura models. However, the Endura Sierra offers solid features along with some extras that are specifically geared to...

Like most Endura models, this GPS has a lot of features for hunters

This unit lacks an electronic compass and barometric altimeter

This rugged and functional system is a good fit for hunters.

Lowrance iFinder Expedition c

Find your way with this waterproof GPS device.

But you don't necessarily buy a device like this for its style or technological toys - you buy it because you need reliable, accurate position data quickly, in a device that's easy to operate in potentially treacherous conditions. And on these counts,...

I love this GPS when it works.

I have had a Global Map 100 unit made by Lowrance for 10 years with no problem, so I chose the Lowrance brand for my newest GPS. Was disappointed it quit working so soon after I bought it. Lowrance had a new one for me within 1 week. I am hoping they...

I like the fact it has all the maps preloaded. Locks onto Satellites within a minute. This was a gift for my wife and she needed something simple. She teaches a high school geology class and it comes in handy for finding where they want to go

Quit working after several months. Sent in on a Tuesday and received a new one on the following Wednesday. I think Mp player and picture viewer is a waste. The touch screen is a bit quirky

great usability, questionable quality

Overall I love this unit. Even the cons are easy to overcome. However, I am starting to worry about the quality of these units. The first unit I purchased would not boot. I returned it to Bass Pro and they immediately switched the unit out and the new...

The paperless geocaching functions are wonderful. Loading new geocaches to the unit are easy. Especially if you have a premium account on geocaching.com. You can download your pocket queries and load them right into the unit without any conversion

Slow startup. Better sort options for favorites and geocaches would be helpful

Lowrance customer service is not good

I bought this GPS in June of 2010 and was disappointed because it has so many map errors and missing trails and roads. It's the worst map on the market that I am aware of. There is no way to edit the map data, to enter corrections (other GPS's have...

Bright display, front buttons easy to use

Very bad battery life, many trails missing or wrong in the map, many roads missing or wrong in the map, worst customer service ever experienced

Purchased Endura Sierra in May 2010. NO streets in my neighborhood (9 years old) are on the maps. Have submitted this info to Navteq numerous times over the past 4 years, but streets remain missing. In my travels, I have discovered numerous other...
