IPX-4 certified waterproofing. Removable rubber housing for grip and durability. Automatically adjusts color and brightness in response to lighting. Plays MP3s stored on SD cards over speaker. Includes 1.5GB of storage and preloaded topographical maps

At 3.4 x 4.3 inches it’s not quite pocket-sized. Switching menus gets confusing if you're navigating a mix of terrain. Clumsy media player controls. Live traffic info only available with a subscription

For the biking, hiking, or boating enthusiast who also wants good, solid vehicle navigation, the CrossoverGPS is an excellent choice.

Excellent battery life. Built-in topographical contour maps for continental U.S. IPX-4 waterproofness rating. Text-to-speech conversion.

Marine maps are optional. No vehicle profiles for bicycle/pedestrian modes.

Crossover unit means flexibility, solid build quality and rugged design, water resistant

Can't enter addresses in walking mode, a little sluggish, user interface looks outdated, volume could be louder

Magellan's CrossoverGPS unit is a fair effort, but it's lacking in some areas. If you do your fair share of walking and boating though, this is definitely worth a look.

Recenlty used this on a college road trip through New York state and Flordia with my daughter. The only place we got lost was Disneyworld while looking for our hotel. The address I had was not in the data base so could not program the Crossover...
