Buy Top-Of-The-Line Magellan eXplorist 600

I bought a Garmin eTrex for wilderness hiking navigation. Big mistake. During the first year, the springs in the battery compartment broke because they are badly engineered. Garmin customer support refused to solve my problem. I soldered the springs...

Good Unit and easy to use.

Light weight with good 10 foot ability and easy to use. The background maps are good enough to zero in on intersections and mark the point. Includes Canada and offshore USA

Can't add maps, but that is not why I bought it. Paid less than $175 new

Very fun and easy to use

The keys, screens and menus are very intuitive and I did not need to read user's manual to understand how to use it. I liked the WAAS capability

Ideal as a basic map if only main roads are required

Keypad failure after 2 years, Canada maps outdated

I am in the infantry and we use what is called a Plugger. It is huge, slow, and no good. For Iraq I used an E-Trex by Garmin. The face plate cracked, but it still works. When I got home I bought a new GPS. We were switching to the DAGGER, another...

Magellan GPS - Buyer Beware

Megellans "customer service" is by far the worst we have experienced. Based on our experience, it appears that Magellan's customer service tactic is to put the customer on hold for long periods hoping that they will hang up, always making the customer...
