Best first unit!

 

I have one since 3 years now and no problem with. Very simple to use in small package. No lag at all and give good instruction

The lifespan of the battery is a bit short. The cost of updates maps compared to the value of GPS do not bother, but it is the case for many others

You can't beat the deal

 

Magellan will update the maps to the latest version for $10 shipped... refurbished or new they will honour the 30 day guarantee for maps after purchase... how can you beat this deal?

Great Gift

 

At 54$ including shipping (cdn) you can't go wrong with this unit.

I own an Alpine GPS (300$) and the only major difference with this one that i gave to my mother in law is the missing bluetooth...beside that is it great ! It has french easy home setting, nice screen and the window socket works great

None so far...mother in law is happy, i'm happy

OK unit to start with

 

This is my first GPS unit, so I can't really give a thorough review of it. If you buy it though, contact Magellan to get a map update. They will charge you approx. $10 for shipping.

Can calculate the route correctly most of the time ; Indicates on which sides of the street your location is ; Includes windows mount, 12V plug and AC plug ; Auto night-mode (high contrast)

Startup time is so so ; Map rendering is average

It's not working

 

Great price and quick signal reception. Clear instruction

I bought 4 Magellan gps. It's the only one not working. Not even able to turn on. I have to pay to ship it back for fix. Have to call customer service twice and talked to a couple of people and explain my situation again and again

Really Good - But be careful.

 

The customer service is professional, excellent. The one I found on phone came right to the point, did not waste any time and resolved the issue in no time. Ships in about 3 days via UPS. Basically, if you get stuck with a bad device dont get stuck...

1. Spells out street names..very convenient ; 2. Automatically adjusts the view zooms it when we get close to the turn ; 3. Splits the screen and gives a detailed view at turnings ; 4. Gives advance direction..take left followed by another left, etc....

1. Major flaw- the first recertified gps that I received was flawed. It took me about 30 min to add an address, very very slow while entering any address, but once the address is input, the driving audio directions were not slow ; I returned it for a...

Excellent buy (if it works)

 

Kind of stupid that after paying for a defective unit I have to pay more money to ship it back to Magellan so they can send me one that will hopefully work. Having to do this makes the unit cost $15 more than I planned (and what happens if the next one...

Great price for a refurb unit. The window mount, screen size, colour brightness, audio, and touch sensitivity are all excellent. Would have been the perfect buy if I did not have to return it because it won't pick up any GPS signal

Received the unit, obviously having been sent back by a previous buyer, without it able to pick up a GPS signal. You think newegg would have re-tested the unit before re-selling it again not working. Called Magellan and they troubleshooted it as...

So far, so good

 

Well worth the money! Gave four stars because maps are way out of date, 79 bucks to get new ones. Suction cup will not stick to window.

Bright, clear, voice prompts and pronunciations are accurate - so far

Was rather supprised today when I plugged in my TomTom cable to charge this Magellan gps that it flat out refused based on proprietary hardware. Make sure you grab your gear if you switch vehicles a lot

Map updates

Refurbished unit from Newegg still qualified for map update within 30 days. Map update with SD card is easy

Some Magellan tech support needs to be informed of the latest versions of maps for customers

Cheap and works

 

Not qualified for map updates because it is a refurbished unit. I say it will get you to most of your destinations because of the old map pack and out of dat POI.

Cheap. It will get you to most of your destinations. No functional problems out of the box

It is marked as refurbished by a hot branding iron that melted the plastic. It is on the bottom, so it is not seen when in use. Comes with Map pack #29, which I believe is over two and a half years old
