Microsoft Streets & Trips 2005

Let's face it, escaping the bonds of technology is getting tougher and tougher. Many of us get a hankering to leave it all behind and go hiking, skiing, backpacking, snowshoeing (or perhaps you can't let summer go and just want to surf or scuba dive)....

Solid update to a perennial best-seller. Better GPS support. Optional USB GPS receiver. GPS works with Pocket PCs and smart phones too

Inadequate points of interest, especially in rural areas. No online links to evaluate quality of hotels and restaurants. Shows most mass-transit stops but not routing. Rules-based routing may seem illogical in areas you know well; no easy way to make...

It continues to be one of the best choices for those who buy disk-based mapping software despite its foibles, which are common to mapping products in general. The new version also makes it easier to install other GPS receivers you may have.

Microsoft Streets & Trips 2005 with GPS

Used on a 2,000 mile trip in areas that I had driven many times and some areas only a few times. Worked very well and seldom lost the signal. Needs voice turn by turn directions but was worth the money.

Inexpensive, if you have a laptop already

No voice directions

Very Cool; Inexpensive; gets job done

From my two week use with the product I found it very helpful when traveling to minor league baseball parks. I went to 10 in a 2 week span and never did I get lost. The product is not a phony because it has the "MICROSOFT" Label on the GPS Itself. The...

Pros: The Mic. Streets-Trips with GPS offers a great set of maps and accuracy with its GPS Add-on. Made by Microsoft so it is reliable

Cons: Once in a while the GPS will go black and then come right back but 95% of the time its on and accurate

Good mapping and GPS

I've used this software and GPS receiver for the last month and a half and have been quite pleased with it. I've used it in Ohio, Georgia, Alabama, and Wisconsin and the mapping and GPS tracking have been quite accurate. I do wish that it talked to you...

Accurate GPS location, good mapping

Does not talk to you (no audible "turn here" prompts)
