Mio Moov Spirit V505 TV satnav

Need a TV on your satnav?

Comes with an external aerial, easy enough to use

With more people staying at home for holidays, then if all else fails, the V505 might provide you with some entertainment as you watch the rain lash down on a Cornish beach whilst you cower in the car

Mio Moov Spirit V505 TV review

Mio's new Spirit V505 TV is very similar to the Spirit 500 that we reviewed seven months ago. The main difference is that the V505 has a built-in Freeview tuner, allowing you to use the slightly larger 4.7in screen to watch TV shows when you're not...

A reasonable navigation device, but the TV interface is poorly designed, there's no headphone socket and it can't be used on the move. There are better satnavs available for similar money.

It's a reasonable expectation that all satnavs that make it to market will be capable of safely getting you to your destination, so manufacturers need to make their models stand out in other ways. Notable previous examples include intelligent route...

Combining TV and navigation in a single device costing less than £200 earns the Mio Moov Spirt V505 TV Brownie points in terms of value for money and portability. Of course, these features can't be used simultaneously, making the Mio an essential...

Mio Moov Spirit V505 TV

As you may have guessed from the name, the Mio Moov Spirit V505 TV is a satnav with a difference: it packs a digital Freeview TV tuner (with EPG) into its slim frame. There's also a 4.7-inch screen and a 12-month subscription to speed camera location...

The V505 makes for a decent satnav but a very disappointing portable TV. Best look elsewhere for your on-the-go entertainment. Mio Moov Spirit V505 TV is tagged with Mio Moov Spirit V505 TV, Sat-nav and Mio. Select a tag (Mio Moov Spirit V505 TV, for...

As a satnav, the Spirit V505 TV works reasonably well. While the touchscreen would benefit from a bit more responsiveness, the built-in TMC traffic updates, clear voice instructions and logical routing make the whole thing work well

While the addition of a TV tuner is certainly welcome, Mio could have implemented this part of the V505 better: with no headphone jack, you’re forced to use the built-in mono speaker (which could potentially annoy other passengers)

The V505 makes for a decent satnav but a very disappointing portable TV. Best look elsewhere for your on-the-go entertainment.
