Navigon 2150max

Navigon is the latest player to enter the portable GPS market in Australia. Its 2150max unit boasts 'lane assistance', 3-D junction views and realisti...

Sleek design, easy to grasp interface, lane assistance, text-to speech, Bluetooth hands-free, Road Sense Safety

Bulky window mount, poor viewing angle and sunlight glare, cluttered map view

Navigon's 2150max is certainly reasonable value at this price. Lane assistance, text-to-speech and Bluetooth hands-free combined with comprehensive safety warnings and a reasonably intuitive interface make it a credible choice.

Navigon 2150 max review

Navigon's 2150 max satnav unit provides text-to-speech to announce road names, and hands-free integration with a mobile phone

It seems rather expensive once you factor in the £40 for the TMC service, but overall this is a good satnav, with admirably clear and precise maps and plenty of customisation options too.

Navigon 2150 Max Sat-Nav

Navigon's 2150 Max sat-nav is a good yet pricey TomTom alternative.

I could go on, but you get the picture: while Navigon makes a decent fist of competing with the TomTom Go 730, even beating it in some respects, overall it's simply outgunned.

Navigon 2150max

This is a great GPS if you have a piano black fetish. For the rest of us, it's just OK. Its good points (Aussie-capable text-to-speech, junction view, extended lane info) are balanced out by an inconsistent interface and unfriendly windshield mount.

Handles Aussie street names pretty grouse ; Junction view and lane info ; Lots of piano black ; Simple interface design

that's unfortunately rather inconsistent ; Lots of piano black ; QWERTY keyboard, wherefore art thou ; Chunky, clunky windshield mount

Conclusion This is a great GPS if you have a piano black fetish. For the rest of us, it's just OK. Its good points (Aussie-capable text-to-speech, junction view, extended lane info) are balanced out by an inconsistent interface and unfriendly...
