Navigon 2200T review: Navigon 2200T

It's been our experience that Navigon's portable navigation devices are a but unpredictable in the performance department. Some are fast, accurate navigators, while others can be frustratingly slow and a little wonky with their directions. However, the...

The Navigon 2200T offers free real-time traffic updates for life as well as text-to-speech functionality and reality view for major highway exchanges.

The screen size is rather small. Satellite acquisition is slow.

The Navigon 2200T takes some time to warm up but the GPS offers a lot of bang for your buck, including free traffic updates for life.

Navigon 2200T GPS Device

The 2200T is a basic GPS device, but Navigon sweetens the deal with lifetime traffic service at a bargain-basement price.

Lifetime traffic included ; Offers realistic road images and lane guidance

Interface isn't always attractive ; Maps of the 48 continental U.S. states only

The 2200T will get you where you're heading, though. And it will get you there with traffic service--a stellar extra when you consider this device's low, low price

Navigon 2200T GPS Navigator

Free lifetime live traffic updates make the Navigon 2200T an incredible bargain.

Small and thin. Text-to-speech conversion. Multisegment routing. Handy features including Reality View Pro and Lane Assistant Pro.

Small points-of-interest database. Relatively limited POI search capabilities. Includes maps for the continental U.S. only.

One place Navigon did compromise is with the included maps and POI database. The 2200T's Navteq maps cover only the 48 continental states, and the POI database, with two million entries, is relatively small. The similarly priced Mio MOOV 200 for...

Navigon 2200T

The budget-friendly Navigon 2200T combines a good navigation experience with free lifetime traffic.

Free and accurate traffic updates for life ; Crisp touchscreen ; Large POI database ; Lane Assistant Pro feature

Randomly rerouted us once ; Lacks features such as a media player

For ’29, the Navigon 2200T offered everything we could ask for in a value-price GPS device: accurate directions and a sharp and colorful screen. It reported traffic accurately, and we enjoyed the Lane Assistant Pro feature for getting through tough...

Review Of Navigon 2200T 3.5-Inch Portable GPS

There are bulk of navigational portable devices in the market say dozens of them are available to keep the market hotter and heavier with the navigational services. But the experience of al of them is not that compatible. There are some of the devices...

Smaller screen size makes the job tougher to see the given data and also it becomes difficult to make the satellite connection effectively while driving the car ; Specialty: The names of the street are announced in the best audio quality and also the...

REVIEW – Navigon 2200T

I remember an international flight that I took a number of years ago where I was really impressed with the video display in the cabin showing the relative position of the aircraft and other information such as heading, altitude, temperature, and time...

All in all, the Navigon 2200T is an excellent unit that offers incredible value – especially with free FM traffic. It is easy to use and has a nice healthy quantity of POIs. Though a number of things could’ve been better clarified with the inclusion of...

NAVIGON 2200T review

The Navigon 2200T is Navigon's current entry-level model with lifetime traffic. This 3.5″ touch screen unit features text-to-speech, so you'll hear “in one mile, turn right onto Maple Street” instead of just “in one mile, turn right.” Other features...

Navigon has come a long way with their interface in a year since they burst onto the US market. The improvements come in the usability area allowing for easier inputs and typing on the standard 3.5-inch screen. The Navigon 2200T has a lot of...

Gadgetell Review: Navigon 2200T

Gadgetell Quick Review: Navigon 2200T Cool: Low Price(about 200 bucks) Good mounting hardware Reality view and Lane Assistant Pro feature is really helpful Speed warning Small size Lifetime traffic service Uncool: Sometimes difficult to navigate the...

So overall, for a low cost, you get a very functional GPS unit with a few quirks that may turn some people off. However, the benefit of lifetime traffic service set it apart from comparable GPS units and makes it worth buying.

Navigating With The Navigon 2200/2210

The Navigon 2200 and 2210s are slimline 3.5inch screen GPS units which incorporate traffic information (TMC) and text-to-speech. They are identical with the exception that the 2210 maps cover Europe and not just the UK & Ireland.

I like the very clear print that is used, under the rolling map display, for the names of the road that one is currently on and the road into which one will next turn. However, it was not really needed most of the time as the voice instructions gives...
