Navigon may have pulled out of the U.S. hardware market back in 2009, but the company is still working hard on its flagship iPhone GPS app—and it really shows. Since I last tested it two years ago, the company has added plenty of features. Most of them...

Smooth, detailed maps. Well-tuned voice prompts. Map manager stores data locally while conserving storage space. Plenty of fun, useful features and extras

Expensive, especially once you activate some of the plug-ins. Slightly cluttered display

Navigon is a smooth, full-featured nav app for the iPhone that renders low-end standalone GPS devices obsolete.

Navigon for iPhone is the best first effort among early GPS apps. It sports the company's time-tested lane assistance and reality view features, and, more importantly, integrates fairly well with the iPhone. Also, its price-a one-time fee of $99.99...
