All in all, a great product

I've been using this model since summer of 2003 when I took a car trip to Austria. It responded very well and the journey was a breeze without the need for an atlas. Since then, I've taken it with me to trips, holidays etc, within UK. The only glitch...

Detailed and accurate maps, gps receiver very responsive

A portable GPS that works well

Detailed graphics, ease of use. Came with car power adapter, and suction windshield mount

Drains battery if not plugged into car adapter. Then again, what doesnt drain the battery

maps are not that good.

shows location that you are on

hard to enter destination location. Very difficult to do a search. Route algorythm stinks. I don't use it. Prefer yahoo maps

Confusing docs, software oddities, missing parts

Ummm

The docs for the 3450 are confusing. The box says iPaq 36xx and PocketPC 2000 (aka Windows CE 3.0). The internal paperwork says iPaq 37xx and above, PocketPC 2002 minimum. Application itself is odd. Click on "Exit Application" does not shut the app

A GPS for driving on and off the paved highway

I use this item for rental cars without a GPS. I also use this item with my HP5555 with My Topo topographic maps when 4-wheeling in remote locations such as Utah where we have been as far as 70 miles from a paved road. The positioning is accurate but...

My Navman GPS suddenly stop working

Problem: I used to have this product for 4 years. Time to time, it requires to activate Software. Suddenly, software is no longer able to be activated. Navman Tech support said my software (SMART ST 1.90) is outdated and their servers do not recognize...

No longer lost...

I have always wanted a portable GPS unit but couldn't see paying the $700 plus dollars that they used to sell for. I already had an older Compaq Ipaq 3765 that I was using for a variety of things when I discovered the NavMan. I was sceptical at first...

Software no longer supported

The pros:

The pros: Good gps unit, easy to use, nice layout, customisable, will work well with other gps software. The con: Literaly a con, you will not be able to use the SmartSt software. Navmans servers "do not" support activation of this software any longer....

Navman Discontinues Smart ST Pro for iPAQ H5400, H3600, H3700 & H3800

Just got off the phone with Navman support. They asked me to buy a latest iPaq and buy new Navman. Since they stopped supporting the old and the old one does not seem to work with their server for registering the software.
