Expert Review

The iCN 720 is a solid GPS unit that works well and includes a digital camera, navigation using photos, 4-inch touch screen, remote control and easy to navigate interface.

NavPix technology and digital camera, GPS signal strength, 4-inch widescreen, User interface, Next Turn map option, Red light and Speed camera warnings, Included remote control

Quite large and bulky, Can't navigate to house number with postcode search

Can Navman's innovative new sat nav give Tom Tom a run for its money?

Navman iCN720 review

The school of thought behind Navman's NavPix is that you can take a picture of a destination using the device's 1.3MP camera and then store it as a photo thumbnail shortcut. Now, most sat-nav systems will let you store favourites, but a photo is useful...

While NavPix is a nice little feature, it's not a huge reason to buy this over a TomTom

Unless NavPix is the functionality you’ve been crying out for, it is difficult to see past the iCN720's failings

Navman iCN 720 review

The iCN 720 is a high-quality navigation device, with excellent usability and on-screen information display. Although it's intriguing, we're not convinced that NavPix, the image-management system, will have the revolutionary effect that Navman is...

Widescreen display shows plenty of map data ; Built-in digital camera and innovative NavPix system ; Spoken instructions are loud and clear ; Easy-to-enter destinations ; Supports full postcode navigation

Live Traffic information is an optional add-on ; Device is large and heavy ; NavPix needs some refinement and may not be universally useful

Overall, though, NavPix gives the impression of being a bolted on feature rather than a smoothly integrated one. For example, you can't instruct the system to save images to an SD card rather than the internal memory by default, and you can't navigate...

Navman iCN 720

I purchased this not too long ago and to be honest I have been impressed. However if you're someone who likes to modify everything and loves added features then a TomTom unit would suit you. However if like me you just want to be taken from A to B and...

Expensive in as much that map updates are required within a few months.Dash mounting can lead to overheating and closes down the unit.Steering wheel remote is a gimmick. Contact with Navman results with a huffy response that " Navman use the latest...

Large display

Gets confused. not easy to enter destinations.Basic mount. No real off switch. No carry case.Volume too low.Not up to date maps . Cheaper to buy street directory than updated maps.

Pros: Takes pictures of an area and works out where the location is by its GPS, tells you how far to turn in and then when you are approaching that turn tells you to turn, has buttons to tell you the closest parking garages and petrol stations, you can...
