Navman MY30 GPS unit

Navman's MY30 GPS unit may be the entry-level satnav in the MY range, but lane guidance and 3D junction views are included

Decent value, choice between glide or tap UI, lane guidance and 3D junction views included, search method

Screen has poor viewing angles, overzealous school zone warnings, Navteq maps miss some red light cameras and 'no right turns', screen transitions are a little sluggish, unit is chunkier models with larger screens

There are no advanced features like Bluetooth and live traffic updates, but Navman's MY30 still manages to include lane guidance and 3D landmarks. Overzealous school zone alerts, an inconsistent map and an average screen will disappoint.

Navman MY30

Good looks, good price, but let down by overzealous school warnings and limited lane guidance.

Clear, loud safety camera alerts ; Clean, minimalist look ; Slide-to-scroll now only an option

Constant school zone warnings irritating ; Chunkier than 4.7-inch models ; More lane guidance would be nice

The MY30 is a good looking device at a good price, and it works reasonably well most of the time. With the TomTom One 140's recent price cut to AU$299, we'd (just) go for that over the MY30 on the basis that it offers greater lane guidance and the...

Bought this MY30 on a whim here in NZ for a mere NZ$100 at a DSE 2010 Boxing Day sale! Have found it an absolutely brilliant little device for the price, and it near immediately saved our family group $$ by navigating to some little known FREE hotpools...

Good unit, here in New Zealand it seems to be good. If I take a short cut it is very quick to recalculate. I have big finger tips and find typing not too much of a mission. The touch scroll thing is a bit of a mission to use, I go to scroll and it...

Some people have commented on the poor maps. My take is that there are probably areas that NAVTEQ have mapped thoroughly and areas that need more work.

Easy to follow nav oral instructions, easy to operate

Limited POI in my area

terrible route options taking long ways to freeways etc and maps were out of date from day one - have been lost several times as streets had been closed off or don't exist - back to TomTom if i get another GPS.
