Navman MY50T GPS unit

A mid-range GPS with a large display and built-in traffic support

Design, choice between glide or tap UI, included traffic subscription, large display, 3D junction views, lane guidance

No Bluetooth hands-free, overzealous school zone warnings, map is missing some red light cameras and 'no right turns', screen transitions are a little sluggish, not all phones compatible with Bluetooth, TMC antenna is built into charger not the actual...

A large screen and a revamped user interface make the Navman MY50T effortless to use, but the lack of Bluetooth hands-free and overzealous school zone warnings spoil the party. There is a lot to like about this mid-range GPS, but it's far from perfect.

Navman MY50T

Step up to the MY50T and you'll get a larger than normal 4.7-inch touchscreen, traffic messaging with a lifetime Suna subscription, and Google or TrueLocal searches via a Bluetooth internet connection.

Swipe to scroll now merely an option. Traffic messaging at a low price. Larger than usual 4.7-inch screen.

Bluetooth, but not for hands-free. More illegal turns than we'd like. Overzealous school zone warnings.

Thanks largely to the large 4.7-inch screen, good looks and demotion of swipe to scroll, the MY50T is a serious contender. Now, if only the Bluetooth was for hands-free communication...

MY50T - OK this is my first GPS and had it for 15 months. Received an email to update my maps with instructions about 6 months ago and this worked fine. I like the detail on the screen compared to other GPS' like Tom Tom. The main negatives I have...

Large Screen, free maps, POI

sluggish performance when first turned on

I noticed my Navman 50T stopped receiving SUNA traffic updates for Sydney in August 2010. Please check before buying if TMS life time subscription is still available for this model. My next GPS will not be a Navman, ever..

Large screen

Road speed limit indicator not available, Traffic updates stopped after 6 months, prolific errors with invalid left , right and U turns even for major arterial roads
