Cool GPS Devices for Everyone

It's getting more difficult to qualify as an excellent portable GPS device these days. Marketplace competition in this growing product category is heating up, and vendors are adding lots of entertainment features to their systems in an effort to stand...

Large, 4-inch screen. Sensitive GPS receiver. Built-in players for music, pictures, and videos.

Can search only nearby POIs, not ones in other locations. Reflective screen shows fingerprints. Jerky playback of full screen WMV video files.

With a nice bundle of features plus a large screen, the Pharos Drive 140 GPS is well-appointed, but text-to-speech functionality and improved POI handling would greatly improve this product.

Pharos Drive GPS 140

My experience in our last trip around florida is that I could have easily have an accident because of this GPs and I had to stop multiple times to trouble shoot this terrible Pharos GPS.

Nothing, it is terrible. The charge dont last, the touch screen jams, the "stylus pen" dont have a holder, we already lost it. Dont even take it as a present

I've been sending emails to the company trying to reach customer service to see if they have upgraded the software and got no response. When you look at their web page it looks like they are serious people but you get no response. Pharos is awful

I do not like this product since it just does not work the way it is suppose to work. I spend 250.00 through dell for junk. I am very dissapointed in something that is suppose to make your trips easier and instead just caused an argument and near...

The only thing I like is the touch screen and size

The gps is very slow so you might as well miss your turns and not have a gps at all. The bluetooth does not work on newer phones. The card is out of date and does not have any current roads at all and you cannot download more. Its junk

The box did not contain a 2 GB SD (containing all maps) as advertised. Customer support would not send out a replacement chip and was rude. The GPS itself is a little sluggish and has a poor UI. Wish I had purchased from another vendor.

Pharos Drive GPS 140

If Pharos want to compete in this business world then their FIRST priority should be CUSTOMER SERVICE. The problem with their customer service is that the only thing you get from them when you call is a scolding or a BS story like, "Oh...well we're...

Screen size

Slow, inaccurate, constantly crashes, slow to recalculate route, long time to acquire a signal

Product Specifications

In building the Drive GPS 140, Pharos has answered every need asked by mobile professionals. Starting off with a thin design for easy transporting, the 140 contains street level maps of the U.S. and Canada preloaded and routing software that delivers voice prompted, turn by turn driving directions. GPS signals are acquired with the highly sensitive SiRF StarIII and routes are clearly shown on the large, 4.0" color touch screen display. The hands free Bluetooth feature for cell phones helps to keep eyes on the road when discussing business and also comes in handy for in-vehicle multi-person conversations with customers or the office. For added entertainment when driving long distances, the 140 also comes equipped with a photo viewer, an MP3 player and a video player. Music files as well as video files can be heard in full sound when connected to a vehicles sound system via the speaker outlet jack on the 140.
