Pharos Traveler GPS 127

While the Pharos Traveler 127 holds the advantage over most GPS-enabled smartphones by coming preloaded with navigation software, it loses any competitive edge it had due to sluggish performance.

The Pharos Traveler 127 ships with navigation software, so there's no need for a subscription-based location-based service. The Windows Mobile smartphone also offers 3G support, Wi-Fi, and a 2-megapixel camera

The smartphone can be extremely sluggish at times, and the Smart Navigator app isn't the most easy to use. Expandable memory is restricted when using the navigation software

GPS, Cell Phone Mashup More of a Train Wreck

But seriously, Pharos (motto: "lighthouse of the 21st century") is hardly a household name in the mobile phone world, and the company's Traveler 127 isn't likely to make it one. The overall idea is fine on the surface: It's a QWERTY-enabled 3-G…

Traveler 127

The Pharos Traveler 127 ($530, unlocked) Windows Mobile smart phone packs tons of features, including a highly capable GPS. Unfortunately, this handset lives up to the WinMo reputation of coupling a confusing interface with sluggish performance.

Solid GPS capabilities Responsive, crisp touch screen

Confusing user interface Handset's build feels cheap

With so many GPS-enabled phones on the market, it is difficult to say whether it is worth dropping $530 on the Pharos Traveler 127. In its favor: The Pharos's Smart Navigator software is good and fairly accurate. But its interface is confusing, and the...

Confusing user interface ; Handset's build feels cheap

The feature-packed Pharos Traveler 127 delivers solid GPS features, but has a counterintuitive user interface.

Pharos Traveler 127

In the world of consumer electronics, a long list of features is desirable, but ultimately that doesn't matter if the user experience is poor. This truism sums up the Pharos Traveler 127 ($529.95 list), a GPS-focused smartphone whose features fail to...

Solid voice quality and reception. GPS radio works independently of cellular reception

Very slow performance. Buggy software. Poor camera. Difficult to dial phone numbers. SIM card and GPS settings require reconfiguration with every reboot. GPS app doesn't pronounce street names. Clumsy microSD card slot design

Given their high up-front cost, unlocked phones are already a tough sell. It's even worse when one has as many shortcomings as Pharos's latest GPS-focused smartphone.

Pharos Traveler GPS 127 Smartphone

The GPS feature on many smartphones these days sometimes stands as a case in point for the disadvantages of a multi-functional device. Is it worth paying a premium on a gadget that does a variety of things, but none of them very well? The Pharos...

Review Of Pharos Traveler GPS 127 Cell Phone

The world is developing in the Jet speed and there are so many instances that show us that within a few years, there is so huge development in the world. For example, there was never even a thought of passing the message to the far places before the...

The Pharos Traveler 127 is the cell phone with the best navigation software. It's a mobile wit the features of smartphone and also having services of Windows. The exclusive features are being the Wi-Fi, and a 2-megapixel camera

The smart phones are generally the cells with the feature of being nearer to the perfection. But still, it is a mechanical device and therefore it lacks some amount of deficiency in the phone. Sometimes it is too sluggish. The expandable memory...

:The Pharos Traveler 127 is the smartphone with the advantage of having GPS. It is also having the fascinating feature of navigation software so becomes user friendly. So, over all its good but the lack of continuity makes the phone somewhat sluggish.

Pharos Traveler 127 (Unlocked)

The Traveler 127 smartphone has cutting-edge GPS navigation software, but as a handset it's sluggish and uneven. Pharos will have to do much better than this to snag new customers.

Pharos Traveler 127 Review

The exterior case has been finished with a "soft touch" feel that is comfortable to hold and doesn't catch fingerprints and smudges. That also means that the phone isn't slippery at all, and feels good in the hand. It's about as wide a device as is...

Great screen ; Usable keyboard ; Surprisingly good camera ; Excellent call quality

Navigation software difficult to use

The built-in GPS is very fast when pinpointing my location, but the menu system is clunky and doesn't offer anything close to the flawless experience of carrier-mediated services such as Verizon's. It isn't really integrated into the device as a whole,...
