Great Value

I love this unit. Having this in my 05 4Runner makes it better. I feel like im driving a brand new BMW now. This head unit has lots of features that you need to figure out over about a week of using it in your car. If your the type of person who gets...

This head unit has everything I wanted Nav, Bluetooth, MP3. The Nav works good not garmin good but close enough. I have the 700BT so I don't know about the MSN direct features but I would like to check them out. Bluetooth works great syncs with my...

Long boot time. You can speed that up by turning off VR catalog mode and starting it with the fm radio playing rather than I-Pod, USB, SD. The Voice command features are the worst! It never works right and it will crash the OS. I'm not in to voice...

Fail

This unit is awesome in concept. This version of the product truly does everything, but poorly. I say stay far away for another year or two. Were aren't there yet. This unit gets an F for FAIL!

The GPS is well integrated. DIVX, the must have feature. I love having access to the CD/DVD slot without folding the screen down. The SD slot is great and what really sold me on this unit. looks nice ie: girls like it

Screen looks bad compared to units from other vendors, Preamps outs are VERY noisy! Bass is sloppy. Sound quality is decidedly bad. This unit is not for music. I have not been able to hear the GPS voice or people on the phone - just no sound. There is...

Excellent Value

For the price this unit is being offered at, the few con's it does have are infinitely outweighed by the value. The system has never stopped working on me, and for $600, you will not find a better bluetooth\ipod\dvd\touchscreen navigation unit that's...

Outstanding feature list, bright display, simple menu navigation, and fantastic overall sound quality*(see cons). The unit fit's very well into double-din applications, very flush "factory" fit in my '08 Tacoma ; While it is not recommended as an...

To those who have decided to amplify with this system, and those who have expressed "noise" from your speakers, please note that while Pioneer has designed some excellent equipment, this particular model is well known for horribly noisy RCA outs,...

Eeh......

Not bad but not great......

Well the iPhone works well with it since it charges using usb rather than the firewire pinout on the dock connector.

Slow startup and basic functions. This thing has lag like a 14.4 modem.

DEEP Bass

Great sub, great price, designed for small space

Very nice head unit. Everything anyone can ask for.. HD radio/XM/Ipod/DVD playback/Nav system, etc.

Takes 30 - 45 secs to complete boot-up... not really that big of a deal. (Radio/XM/Ipod, etc works during boot)

Nearly perfect with 2.0 firmware!

Pioneer has actually fixed all the big issues with the latest 2.0 firmware. it's a great unit now and all the previous bugs have been fixed, things like long 1 minute plus boot up times, issues with the ipod touch, a lot of issues with blue tooth,...

Voice recognition for ipod music and calling out on the phone. This works very well. Built in Navigation that works ok. Bright screen, built in blue tooth, HD radio ready. Shows album art from IPod, 30 Second boot up time till music and map is...

It's too bad the boot up time can't be say 15 seconds, but it is windows CE so that probably isn't possible. -The blue tooth even with the 2.0 firmware is still buggy with the iphone 3g, especially with the control of calls with on screen status. it...

Not Bad

Would I reccomend this to a friend? HELL YES.

Does everything, plays movies,DVD USB,DIVX,SD...plays Music,CD,MP3,SD,USB,IPOD. has Nav. and the install is a sinch. just splice some wires and you are in business. also the RCA outputs help a bunch. just watch out...the wires can get clipped if forced...

ok so you are probably wondering how bad the unit takes to start. well I'd say about 30 - 45 sec. however If you are looking at a head unit like this one then you are probably using it for long periods at a time in which case who the hell cares.

Product Specifications

You've been holding out for something that links all of your devices together into one seamless experience. You love the idea of a system that can be operated by the sound of your voice. It's time to stop wishing for the next great thing because it's here. This is your life made easier. A traditional portable navigation device lacks the extensive mapping commonly found with in-dash navigation systems. It also can be completely void of any entertainment value. The AVIC-F900BT brings the convenience of portable navigation together with the robust entertainment features found only in Pioneer in-dash units. Now you don't have to worry about map discs being misplaced, damaged, lost, or stolen. The entire TeleAtlas Database that was previously on the two-DVD set has been taken, compressed down, and stored internally on flash memory. The AVIC-F900BT offers a new generation of voice recognition capability for controlling iPod playback and making calls hands-free via connected Bluetooth-enabled cell phones. The technology accepts and recognizes conversational phrases and language, filters out superfluous sounds and phrases, and if the user doesn't give enough information in the command, the unit will ask additional questions to clarify the request. The AVIC-F900BT comes with built-in Bluetooth. Now you never need to miss a call, even if your tunes are cranked up or your phone is buried in your bag. Simplified menus and intuitive icons shorten the learning curve, allowing you to quickly and efficiently start using the system. Quickly enter destinations, browse music libraries, or adjust settings. It is easy to play various digital and audio formats like: DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW discs, Portable Media Players like iPod, USB memory devices, and SD Cards. You can play a wide range of files types as well, such as MP3, WMA, iTunes AAC, and MPEG-4 video files. The WVGA display is much higher quality at 800 x 480 pixels. Images become sharper and more defined, just like maps and menus on these units. The display's enhanced GUI (Graphic User Interface) has also advanced, making system control and management effortless. Fast and easy control through USB, the AVIC-F900BT also features iPod Album Art display, Alphabetical Speed Search, and much more.
