Garmin Oregon 550 Portable Navigator

Garmin makes a quality product and really stands behind their Units. Their Customer Service is great and issues are usually resolved quickly. KUDO's to Garmin for keeping their Customer Service local where you can actually speak to a human that...

Right out of the box the operation was intuitive to former Colorado users. The device is very lightweight and I like the rechargeable battery feature. Access to the batteries has improved - I love the way the case opens

Garmin still has not improved their instructions for Geocaching use to new users. I would still be struggling if I had not used a similar device previously

Great Geocaching/Hunting/Hiking

You can pick a point to go to in Automotive profile and when you have stopped, change the profile to recreation and it still is locked on target using the new profile. Also, you can make your own maps using Google Earth and easily move them to this unit.

I use 7 different Map Sets. I have added over 10,000 custom points of interest and have over 5000 geocaches on a 8gb microSD card. Runs FANTASTIC! Could not be happier with all the functions, Wow

Screen could be brighter. Can't recharge reusable batteries while in the unit
