TomTom GO 300

Antiglare touch screen; 1GB SD card; very portable, and practical even for pedestrian use.

Would like to see text-to-speech technology integrated into vocalized directions.

With a new antiglare touch screen, preloaded maps for the entire U.S., and an itinerary-planning menu, the TomTom GO 300 is one of the best midrange products on the market.

TomTom GO 700

Review: Last July, the TomTom GO got our engines revving as this supercool automotive GPS won our Editors' Choice award for its portability, its accuracy, and its awesome navigation features. Since then, we've anxiously been anticipating the company's...

We're suckers for two-for-one deals, so we were thrilled to hear that the TomTom GO 700 has integrated Bluetooth. This new and exciting feature lets you use the device not only as a navigation aid but also for hands-free control of your cell phone....

Although TomTom improved the touch screen on the GO 700 to display 4,096 colors (rather than 256), that's still not very eye-popping or bright compared with today's laptops, PDAs, or even cell phones. We'd like to see more in-car GPS manufacturers make...

If the TomTom GO 700 performs anything like its predecessor, the future of this plug-and-go automotive GPS device looks very bright. Plus, the GO 700 offers a couple of features the competition doesn't, so we're anxious to take the new Bluetooth...

TomTom GO 700 Car GPS Navigation Unit Review

The TomTom GO 700 is one of two models in TomTom's car GPS navigation range to have a built-in HDD (hard disk drive) with the premium GO 900 model being the other. If you've looked at the entry level GO 900 and have wanted hands-free phone calls using...

TomTom GO 700 GPS unit review

With GPS units becoming more advanced by the second, can TomTom's latest range of models route its way into your heart? We grabbed a TomTom Go 700 and took it out on the road. We have to admit, we didn't like the original TomTom or TomTom Classic as...

Software, Bluetooth, easy to use

Maps did give us some dodgy direction from time to time

Grumbles aside, we can highly recommend the TomTom Go 700

TomTom Go 700 review

The Go 700 is TomTom's first hard-drive-based GPS system and its natty casing is home to 2.5GB of storage, which pays dividends when abroad, since there's no cumbersome loading of European maps on the ferry. This comparatively large memory has the...

TomTomGo 700

The Go 700 is TomTom's first hard-drive-based GPS system and its natty casing is home to 2.5GB of storage, but is it up to the challenge of Britain's congested roads?

Hard-drive-based GPS with 2.5GB storage. Mapping for entire European road network. Bluetooth connectivity.

Guidance through one-way systems a bit hit and miss. Traffic alerts glitchy. Remote and touchscreen approaching overkill.
