This is the second TomTom we have, the other is a 720. The 730 is generally easy to use, and the screen is easy read and informative. I love the available voices for navigation. The spoken street names feature is so-so, as it butchers some street names...
Easy to operate, programmable voices for guidance, easy to read screen
Worthless POI search, touch screen keypad is inaccurate

The device works best when you're certain that you know the exact street address of the location you are trying to reach!
Very nice device. The map color scheme makes it very easily to decipher where you're going
I do have to warn you, that once you update the device using the dock, the device may start giving you bad directions to "Point of Interests" located in its directory (gas station, library, etc.)

Award: RECOMMENDED PRODUCT
A rung below TomTom's flagship GO 930, the GO 730 offers a ever-so-slightly shorter feature set, and purely superficial aesthetic color swap, in exchange for a $50 price cut. Buyers lose enhanced positioning technology and the ability to upgrade to...
Price; accurate travel time estimates; painless Bluetooth setup; quality mount; included dock and PC software; superior build quality
Weak voice input; interface could use a visual update; tricky FM transmitter; not-always-brilliant routing
the GO 730 is a perfectly reasonable middle ground between price and functionality.

Overall, the TomTom GO 730 does not seem to quite match the description of the "perfect GPS," but it certainly does not fall into the category of "beginner's choice" either. This model is great for users who have experienced other, less-featured TomTom...

Consumers who are comfortable with competitor GPS navigators will find it hard to get around the GO 730's minor flaws, but overall this device is all-around an excellent electronic accessory to keep close when venturing onto the road.

A refresh rather than a completely new model, TomTom's GO 730 takes everything we enjoyed about the GO 720 and adds a few excellent software features....
IQ Routes technology, advanced lane guidance, text-to-speech, Bluetooth, Map Share, Help Me menu
No AC charger included, No EPT, voice address input is hit and miss
TomTom’s latest addition to the navigation market continues the company’s fine form when it comes to the user experience. The GO 730 adds some excellent software features to a package that we've come to know and love.

Will this get you from A to B?
All in all, this is TomTom doing what it does best. As a navigation solution, we think this is the best around, but this could be said of the offerings much further down the range, with a great range of options to ensure your journey goes as smoothly...

But do all the extra features make it a worthwhile purchase and justify that premium price?

From a very easy installation, to its built-in intelligence, the TomTom GO 730 delivers a navigation system that is far more than a multimedia presentation of how to get from point A to point B.
More than 'just' a satnav, the TomTom GO 730 is a great gadget for your car.
