TomTom GO 940 Live

By Brett James (cnet.co.uk)

The feature-packed GO 940 Live sat-nav adds to its predecessors' capabilities with a number of over-the-air data services aimed at increasing the efficiency of your journey. This sat-nav isn't without its flaws and is one of the most pricey we've come ...

Good car mount ; useful High Definition Traffic, Google-search and fuel-price services ; intelligent IQ Routes technology

Pricey ; basic map view ; failure to switch between day and night mode ; not all safety cameras were flagged up ; not every area of UK has over-the-air coverage

The TomTom GO 940 Live is one of the most expensive sat-navs we've come across, both in terms of initial and ongoing costs. Yet, despite it being top of the range, it still suffers from some flaws. The device's wealth of features compensates for this ...

The recent VAT drop and undertaking an online price search willcertainly help...

TomTom Go 940 Live

By James Holland (electricpig.co.uk)

HD Traffic, safety alerts, fuel prices, Google Search, advanced lane guidance, IQ Routes, Map Share, 3D Map View: these are just some of the seemingly endless features that TomTom has ploughed into the Go 940 Live.

Online Live services. Has an abundance of features

Factor in the Live subscription, and this is one expensive mutha

The TomTom Go 940 Live is a highly desirable feature-laden satnav at a highly undesirable price point.

TomTom Go 940 LIVE

By (fwd.five.tv)

The TomTom Go 940 LIVE is a GPRS-enabled in car satnav with 4.3-inch, 480x272-pixel touchscreen, 4GB Flash memory, Bluetooth and FM transmitter. Features include live traffic updates, Google searches, voice recognition and smart route timing.

Is this a satnav or an iPhone stuck on its side? The 940's GPRS web connection is a long way from 3G but it's just right for keeping you up to date with local road conditions, tracking down businesses and saving a third of a penny on a litre of ...

You'll have to spend a lot of time on the road at rush hour to justify TomTom's £8 monthly fee for the Live services (although do you get the first three months' free). The service has had some teething issues, too, including poor coverage in some areas

Salesmen and lorry drivers criss-crossing the country will appreciate the sheer wealth of time-shaving features on board the 940. Weekend drivers, however, might find this hitch-hiker an expensive luxury.

TomTom Go 940 Live UK & W. Europe

By Michael (reevoo.com)

Compact easy to use. Gets you to where you want to be. Nice extras like MP3

While navigating & paly music via the radio, if you dial or accept a call hands free and loose the signal the unit locks up. So now I will not use the MP3 playing. All these type of devices suffer from wrong orientation, they should be rotated 90 degres...

Gets you from A-B, but so does a map.

By anakha6 (ciao.co.uk)

I never was much of a fan of the whole sat-nav craze, and the stories of people completely stripped of their common sense driving on train tracks or into rivers certainly fortified my avoidance of them. But seeing this in an electrical store, I thought 'w...
