TomTom GO LIVE 1535M

Accurate routing. Informative display. Internet-based services are a nice extra. HD traffic reporting is a standout.

HD Traffic and Internet services cost $60 per year to renew. Occasional GSM buzz over car stereo speakers. Clumsy POI search.

The TomTom GO LIVE 1535M is a solid choice for anyone who prefers standalone GPS devices to cell phone apps, but still wants some Internet connectivity, and more accurate traffic reporting than those apps can offer.

TomTom GO LIVE 1535 M review

The TomTom GO LIVE 1535 M is the company's new mid-range navigator featuring LIVE (Internet connected) services, such as HD traffic, fuel prices, weather, and Google local search. And it's their first device with travel apps – Twitter, Yelp,...

Internet connected LIVE services (full year included) ; HD traffic ; 5” screen ; Lifetime map updates ; Voice command ; Bluetooth for hands free cell phone use

Underpowered processor results in lags in screen response ; Buggy interface ; Slow to acquire satellites ; Cellular modem failed to connect in some areas ; LIVE services run $59.95 per year after the first year

I was able to pair the TomTom with my Motorola Droid, although it took a few tries. Sound quality for the person on the other end of the line was clear but tinny. The TomTom did successfully retrieve my phone’s address book though.

TomTom Go Live 1535 M

The TomTom Go Live 1535M is an innovative way to incorporate smartphone apps into a GPS unit so that you can get the best of both worlds in a navigation system. Also, this GPS unit uses a capacitive touchscreen to give the feel of a smartphone....

This GPS unit uses built-in apps to give you real-time information, and it has a user-friendly touchscreen

You can't save routes or use more than three waypoints when creating an itinerary

The TomTom Go Live 1535M incorporates smartphone apps so that you can get more from your GPS device. Unfortunately, the device falls short in providing common tools such as programmable routes.

Great product at a great price

Purchased for a trip going somewhere I had never been and could not have asked for it to be more accurate. All features are easy to use and the free map updates are a plus!!!

I will never buy a Tom Tom again!!!

This is not the one to buy. The GPS works, however, it is too slow and it locks up from time to time. The update software is a joke, I can't get it to work on XP sp3, Win 7 Starter or Win 8 Home. Without the software you can not update the GPS. I'm...

Very fine GPS

Bought this as a birthday present for my wife and she loves it! She's been using it for a month now and everything works perfectly on it. Prior to this, she had neither a GPS or cell phone hands free device and she makes use of both with this one...

Good for the price

Happy with the unit. A bit on the slow side. Has good features and voice command and bluetooth capability for hands free calls. I am mostly disappointed in how The website states in the product headline that you get lifetime maps and traffic with this...

EXTREMELY SLOW, MY PHONE IS BETTER

OK as a navigator, touch screen is slow to react, voice recognition is abysmal and a joke, graphics are poor, Live traffic reports are sometimes wrong, typing in addresses is a pain. My cheap android phone has way better voice recognition and more up...
