TomTom GO LIVE 1535M

Accurate routing. Informative display. Internet-based services are a nice extra. HD traffic reporting is a standout.

HD Traffic and Internet services cost $60 per year to renew. Occasional GSM buzz over car stereo speakers. Clumsy POI search.

The TomTom GO LIVE 1535M is a solid choice for anyone who prefers standalone GPS devices to cell phone apps, but still wants some Internet connectivity, and more accurate traffic reporting than those apps can offer.

TomTom GO Live 1535M

The TomTom GO Live 1535M has the distinction of being the first portable navigation device (PND) to feature connected apps. The 1535M features a trio of apps that, via the Live Services data connection and accessed under the Live Services icon on the...

The TomTom GO Live 1535M features a suite of destination searching apps from Yelp, Expedia, Trip Advisor, and Google. Twitter integration allows users to update friends and family with ETAs in a manner safer than texting. Other Live services, such as...

Searching the connected services is clunky and, at times, unintuitive.

The TomTom GO Live 1535M's is a solidly performing GPS device and its app integration for search is a nice first, but that's hardly this PND's strongest feature.

TomTom GO LIVE 1535 M review

The TomTom GO LIVE 1535 M is the company's new mid-range navigator featuring LIVE (Internet connected) services, such as HD traffic, fuel prices, weather, and Google local search. And it's their first device with travel apps – Twitter, Yelp,...

Internet connected LIVE services (full year included) ; HD traffic ; 5” screen ; Lifetime map updates ; Voice command ; Bluetooth for hands free cell phone use

Underpowered processor results in lags in screen response ; Buggy interface ; Slow to acquire satellites ; Cellular modem failed to connect in some areas ; LIVE services run $59.95 per year after the first year

I was able to pair the TomTom with my Motorola Droid, although it took a few tries. Sound quality for the person on the other end of the line was clear but tinny. The TomTom did successfully retrieve my phone’s address book though.

You can't save routes or use more than three waypoints when creating an itinerary

The TomTom Go Live 1535M incorporates smartphone apps so that you can get more from your GPS device. Unfortunately, the device falls short in providing common tools such as programmable routes.

I've lost my confidence in the unit and TomTom and will be returning it tomorrow. Perhaps a replacement would work better but this should not have occurred with this unit.

I bought it at WalMart for 200.00. I was intrigued with the voice navigation feature. The unit functioned as expected.

I need a good GPS for work.

I am not reviewing this specific device but tom tom in general. I am sure they all use the same software to get you from point a to point b ; This does get you from point a to b and I like the option to choose your arrival time

It gets you from a to b but can be really annoying

"Can not recommend purchase at this time."

I just purchased the TomTom GO Live 1535M for personal and professional use. I spend a good part of my working day on the road navigating the roads of Suffolk Co., NY. My past experience using TomTom GPS devices has been mostly positive, and that is...

Good list of features.

Bug in Bluetooth needs to be addressed.
