Waterproof Garmin 310XT is an Excellent Training Tool

Waterproof., Full-featured run, bike, and swim modes - well-suited to triathletes., GPS accuracy and ease-of use., Wireless data transfer.

Somewhat bulky., Heart rate monitor does not work under water.

Garmin Forerunner 310XT Review

I'm an avid bike rider and attend the good old gym on a regular basis. One thing I've long failed to do is keep track of my workouts – I don't even have a little black book to record my mileage or ‘sets' completed. Enter the Garmin Forerunner 310XT. ...

Garmin Forerunner 310XT review

The Garmin Forerunner 310XT is the first and only GPS designed exclusively for triathletes. It is waterproof (to 50 meters!) and can go for up to 20 hours on one charge. Targeted to multi-sport athletes, the 310XT can categorize the activities in your...

It can be purchased by itself or with a waterproof, soft-strap heart rate monitor. While it can't transmit heart-rate data underwater, the strap can be worn under a wetsuit to shave down transition time.

Great Running Watch!!!

I got my Garmin 310XT the day before a marathon when my 305 broke down.Itt was so easy to get used to and I enjoyed the extra features like the Virtual Runner which allows you to see where you stand compared to your target pace.

Good battery life, Easy to see while running (big clear screen), accurate GPS, easy too use buttons, good functions and screen options

Can't use as a regular watch. Problems with data transfer. Sometimes has trouble finding satellites but better than older models

If it works great but often fails to transfer using ANT

If you can get it to work then it is indeed a great watch with good battery life and satellite pickup on the road or run. However the wireless ANT connection is very problematic, incredibly slow and dropping out on a regular basis. The mapping of your...

Better battery life (>10 hours), nicer functions compared to the earlier Forerunner 305, more comfortable on the wrist too. Satellite reception is great and once it has a fix it will keep it even in dense tree cover and urban environments. You must g

The ANT wireless transfer of data is an absolute disaster zone. It rarely works first time, and any large transfer such as a firmware update, course transfer or workouts, it will inevitably fail. You will have to start the transfer all over again, and ra

Extremely poor product support - Buyer Beware!

A product designed for multi-sport training and racing is going to cop a few knocks, so when I sent my 6 week old 310XT in to Garmin support here in Sydney to have the cracked screen replaced I assumed they could handle that with ease. Of course I...
