Garmin Swim review

The Garmin Swim is great fro tracking swimming, but not much else

Accurate swimming tracking ; Records plenty of data ; Easy to use

Not the most stylish ; Doesn't track any other activities ; Confusing desktop app

Garmin Swim

Garmin's Swim is a must-have fitness gadget for anyone who takes their swimming seriously.

Nearly automatic operation - just press start and swim ; Wireless Garmin ANT USB adapter included ; Lots of parameters recorded, including stroke and SWORF

Length detection needs smooth, unbroken swimming ; Full manual is download only ; No tracking for pools under 20 yards long

What a let down, the watch is inaccurate...

So I have put off writing this review until I have had the chance to really test it properly and was hoping it would redeem itself, unfortunately that is not the case. I have used the watch for the last five weeks and every week it has miscounted the...

Generally Good

As a regular swimmer, predominantly in a 25m pool I have found it useful - particularly detecting what stroke you are doing! It has on one length detected back stroke instead of breastroke, but that may have been my technique. Open water swims I am yet...

First impressions are poor

Bought as a Xmas present.Used for the first time today, It over counted my lengths by 12% - I am a very smooth swimmer and I do a good kick off the wall and glide as recommended for the device. The Garmin website - the only place you can analyse the...
