Review: Nike+ GPS Sports Watch

Nike's latest GPS watch is an accurate, comfortable and simple -- though some would say too simple -- tool for tracking your runs.

Syncs with Polar heart-rate straps for pulse-based calorie counting. Foot pod auto-calibrates via GPS. Just 16 mm thick and 66 grams

Too simple for competitive athletes. No heart-rate zones. Must upload for elevation data

Nike+ SportWatch GPS

Design GPS sport watches aren't the most stylish gadgets, but they aren't meant to be fashion accessories, either. Still, there's nothing wrong with wanting a good-looking device, no matter what its purpose, which is why the Nike+ SportWatch GPS stands...

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS is very easy to use and has an attractive design. The watch has good battery life, and the Web component is a great resource for tracking workouts and getting training tips.

It's expensive. We had some initial problems with GPS, and positioning wasn't always accurate.

For runners looking to keep track of their workouts, the Nike+ SportWatch GPS offers a very attractive and simple solution, but it's on the pricier side.

App review: Nike+ GPS

Nike's dalliances with technology should be familiar to our readers by now, with the crowning jewel of course being the Nike+ run-tracking software that

Perfectly polished ; Logs almost everything you care to know ; Mature Nike+ online tracking platform

No way to record lap times ; Celebrity encouragement is demeaning ; Invasive ads hamper web experience

SportWatch too simple for hard-core runners

Since 2003, I?ve tried several fitness accessories that use the GPS system to tell you how far and how fast you?re running. I?ve generally liked them, except for the fact that they don?t work well in big cities.

Perhaps one day, I?ll get a device that has the full functionality of a Garmin or Timex watch but works as well as the Nike SportWatch in big cities. It doesn?t matter which one does it first. I?m just glad there?s healthy competition to get there.

Nike+ SportWatch GPS powered by TomTom

The Nike+ SportWatch represents TomTom's debut entry into the fitness arena. Their partnership with Nike brings a different design language and style than other sport watches.

Nike+ SportWatch GPS review: Hands on

Nike and TomTom have teamed up to help get us fighting fit with the new GPS-packing Nike+ SportWatch GPS powered by TomTom, a running watch that puts all of your running data right where you can see it.

Overall this is an impressive piece of fitness tech. It’s not the most feature-packed run tracking tool we’ve used but then the real beauty is its superb simplicity. It doesn't over complicated things, instead offering just enough information to suit...

TomTom Nike+ SportsWatch GPS Review

This new TomTom Nike+ SportsWatch GPS combines the wireless tracking of the Nike+ shoe pod (that many people use with an iPod or iPhone) with a GPS location service so you can map your run as well as measure it.

We really like the TomTom Nike+ Sportswatch. It’s a stylish device that functions great and links up (and adds to) the data you might already be capturing with a Nike+ on your iPod or iPhone. It’s great to map your runs as well as just track them. It’s...

Nike+ SportWatch

We put the latest GPS sport watch up against a top of the line Garmin watch over the course of the Paris Marathon.

Clear display ; Integral USB connector ; Simple user interface

Lack of features ; Basic data options on watch ; Chunky design

While it's not packed with features, the Nike SportWatch is reliable, easy to operate with a great display and at a relatively low price of £179 including the ShoePod, it's a worthy addition to your fitness kit.
